PREPARING FOR WORSHIP

Pastor Trudy's Weekend Message

You know that moment of panic when you can't find your credit card or cell phone...your mind starts to spin as you mentally or physically retrace your steps while also thinking about what you'll need to do if it really is lost. Maybe your heart rate increased at the thought of it like mine did. A lost pet or one that needs a home evokes a different feeling ...sadness, compassion. Lost people bring up different feelings connected to what we feel their role has been in their own lostness, like the younger son who squanders his inheritance in our Gospel lesson. What does God do with lost people?

God, You never stop watching for the lost ones. Knowing that we are often lost without realizing it, thank you. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We'll be waking up to forgiveness with Chris Billquist.

"I grew up and currently live in Saint Charles. I moved back last fall after having lived in Michigan for a little over 10 years, to pursue advanced schooling and a change in career. GLC has been a wonderful church home during this life transition: a place to worship, fellowship, be challenged, and grow!

WE LIFT UP IN PRAYER

For the family of Marty Boergadine who died March 17. Lee and Marty were in the most recent new member class. A memorial service will be planned for later in the spring. We surround Lee, family and friends with our prayers.

  • The survivors and victims' families of the car accident on Kirk road
  • People of Ukraine
  • Nation leaders around the world
  • Those feeing overwhelmed by losses of all kinds
  • A Lenten season that renews and strengthen our faith
  • Gratitude for this season of reflecting on Jesus' sacrifice for us
  • Gratitude for the shift from winter to spring
  • Gratitude for those who donate items for baby care kits

MISSIONS

TriCity Family Services

GLC was invited to be a part of the Hope Grows Here Gala —a wonderful evening celebrating the work of TCFS. GLC was selected as a Golden Heart Recipient in recognition of the $20,000 donation GLC made to TCFS to help meet the ever increasing need of the community. Pastor Trudy, along with other members of the mission impact team, accepted the award.

Feed My Starving Children

The meal kits that were packed by our confirmation students six weeks ago have arrived in Moldova—to feed Ukrainian refugees. At the time of packing, we did not know these kits would be needed in this part of the world!

Versiti Blood Drive

We opened our church again to host this most important event. Versiti successfully collected 21 units of blood which impacts and saves 63 lives!
