Senior Scholarships

The International Community School PTSA is now accepting scholarship applications. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is April 26th Friday end of day, please check the below URL link or the attached QR code to access the online scholarship application form, which lists all the requirements for qualification and the details of application process.

These scholarships are granted to award achievement and help further the education of the chosen International Community School Senior recipients. The Scholarship Committee recognizes that achievement is demonstrated in many ways; it is not limited to grades and test scores but, just as importantly, through community work, volunteer efforts, extracurricular activities, and a determination for continued improvement.

The ICS PTSA will award up to a total of 6 scholarships of $1,000 each.

IMPORTANT DATES:

March 24th, 2024: ICS PTSA Starts accepting Scholarship Applications.

April 26th, 2024: Last day to apply.

No late or incomplete applications will be considered. All applications must be submitted electronically through the Online Application Form.

June 7th, 2024: Applicants will be notified.

The recipients will be announced in the PTSA newsletter on/before this date.

December 31st, 2024: Last date to use Scholarship amount.

In the event the recipient has not used the scholarship at a college, university, or vocational school of his/her choice by December 31st, 2024, the PTSA scholarship will remain in the ICS PTSA Scholarship fund.

ELIGIBILITY:

The applicant must be a graduating ICS senior and plan on continuing their education at an institution of higher learning (4-year College or University, Community College, or Vocational Technical Institute) in Fall 2024.

ALLOWED EXPENSES:

Scholarship funds may only be used to pay for tuition, required textbooks, or room and board for on-campus housing.

JUDGING:

A panel of 3 external judges (without direct connections to ICS) will score the applicants.

Every effort is made to keep the information in these applications confidential. Copies of the applications with names redacted will be electronically distributed to judges.

LWPTSA SCHOLARSHIPS

LWPTSA Council Scholarships Applications are Opened

Graduation cap and scrolled diploma The Lake Washington PTSA Council is pleased to share our 2024 Scholarship Program! LWPTSA Council offers several student scholarships and two staff scholarships every spring. This year’s Student Scholarship

Program includes 15 scholarships of $1,250 each:

8 Merit Scholarships

1 LWEA/Teeley Scholarship (Funded by the LWEA)

2 Perseverance Scholarships

1 Turnaround Scholarship

1 Two-Year, Technical or Vocational School Scholarship

2 At-Large Scholarships

Two $500 scholarships are also available for certificated LWSD staff to defray the costs of applicable continuing education or professional development. Applications for staff and student scholarships are due by 11:59 pm on March 29, 2024. LWPTSA Council's Scholarship Program is funded by donations from the 44 PTSAs and PTAs in the district, the LWEA and the greater community.

ICS CHESS CLUB



We are very happy to announce the ICS Chess Club is open to all skill levels.

Students will get the chance to play with other students to practice their strategies

ICS INTRAMURAL SPORTS CLUB



We are excited to announce Badminton as the first sport for the newly formed ICS Intramural Sports club. The club will meet on Mondays between 2:50 and 4:30, starting on March 25th, in the Lyceum.

THE NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE SEEKS NEW BOARD MEMBERS

The ICS PTSA has many open roles, and we need your support!!

The Nominations Committee has begun the process of finding new ICS PTSA Board members to replace those who are leaving their positions at the end of this school year.

For the 2024-2025 school year, the following positions are open and need to be filled by May 2024:

• Co-President – 2

• Co-Treasurer -1

• Co-Secretary -1

• VP Community and Facilities Support

• VP Information Support

All ICS PTSA members who would like to take a more active role in supporting our school and students are welcome to apply. Serving on the ICS PTSA Board is a great opportunity to be more engaged in school life and to quickly earn volunteer hours.

More information about the roles and key responsibilities can be found on the ICS PTSA web page. Board positions require a 2-year commitment and participation at all PTSA Board and parent meetings.

INTERNATIONAL FOOD NIGHT

We are honored and excited to announce that we will be hosting an International Food Night (again!) in the ICS Lyceum on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 6:30 PM. VOLUNTEERING

HELP NEEDED FOR SPRING DRAMA PRODUCTION

Drama is looking for parental assistance for the Spring show, so that the show nights can run smoothly. These hours can contribute to your volunteer hours, plus it's a fun way of hanging out with your kids.

We need help in several areas and dates, including selling tickets, purchasing concession snacks, running concessions during the show, and supervising Wednesday rehearsal. Show dates are Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30.
