Drought Management Plan Community Meeting
April 3, 7 p.m., Thornton Infrastructure Maintenance Center, 12450 Washington St.
Adults and teens are invited to participate in this meeting to find out how Thornton will manage water resources and how you can help! The agenda includes a tabletop demo and short presentation. There will be a fun coloring activity for younger kids, light snacks and a drawing for a 'garden in a box'. RSVP at [email protected].

Landfill Day
March 30, 7 a.m.-2 p.m., Republic Services Tower Landfill, 8800 Tower Rd., Commerce City
The gate fee will be waived for Thornton residents to drop off non-hazardous debris. One covered load per household. Cars, pickups, and small single-axel trailers only. Proof of residency is required and limitations apply. Freon charged units (refrigerators, A/C units, and freezers) and electronics such as televisions and computer monitors will NOT be accepted and mattresses are subject to an additional fee.The next landfill day is September 21.
Apply Now For Our Thornton's Got Talent Competition
Have a talent that you would like to share with others? Video submissions for individuals and groups of ALL ages (adults, teens and children) will be accepted. Deadline to apply is April 30. Snowbusters Needed
Looking to volunteer or just like to help those in need in your community? We are in need of Snowbuster heroes. Snowbusters remove snow and ice from the driveways and walkways of disabled or senior residents in Thornton. This service makes it easier for these residents to receive meal deliveries and to safely exit their homes to attend necessary appointments. Volunteers can be individuals, families, civic/social organizations and businesses. To apply follow the link .
E-waste Drop-off
April 6, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Thornton IMC, 12450 Washington St.
Adams County residents may bring their DVD players, computer monitors, televisions, and other electronics in for recycling. Fees apply: $15 per vehicle for all electronics including up to one TV or computer monitor and $25 fee for each vehicle carrying up to three TVs or monitors.
