Community E-News l 03.30.25

We hope you had a great Spring Break, and we can't wait to see you back on campus!

A Message from Our Director of Campus Ministry:

Dear Carondelet Families,

"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant."

Anne Bradstreet

We hope that many of you have enjoyed time during Spring Break to explore the beauty of Creation that is beginning to rise up from the cold earth of winter. While spring is definitely here, we still have a few weeks of Lent before we fully celebrate the new life of Easter, and we are eager to welcome students back on campus to finish our Lenten journey together. Before Break, we collected over 500 books for the “She Reads, She Rises” Lenten Project in partnership with Tuff Kids to benefit the AIC All-Girls Primary Boarding School. This week, we continue our project by focusing on education and advocacy around the important topic of girls’ education around the globe. Our Lenten Advocacy Day is Friday, April 4—a time when students can participate in a variety of activities, from making bookmarks and writing letters for the girls at AIC, to educational Kahoot games and videos. Keep a lookout on social media for stories and photos of Advocacy Day! Students will also have an opportunity to partner with Mindful Littles for a service project on April 11 by creating Mindfulness Kits for the girls who will attend Camp Carondelet this summer, as well as for the girls who attend AIC in Kenya. Students interested in participating can find more information and a signup form later this week on Schoology.

As we enter these last weeks of Lent, we pray that you and your family find meaningful ways to nurture and deepen your spirituality during this season of renewal.

In Unifying Love,

Edie Payne

Director of Campus Ministry

Academics Update

Supporting Student Responsibility for Make-Up Testing

We want to ensure that all students have fair access to make-up testing opportunities. Unfortunately, we’ve noticed a pattern of students reserving make-up test slots but not showing up, which prevents others from being able to schedule their tests.

To address this, we are reinforcing our policy: When students sign up for a make-up test, they are committing to that time. If they can no longer attend, they must provide at least 24 hours' notice so the spot can be made available to another student. Failure to do so may impact their ability to schedule future make-up tests.

We appreciate your support in encouraging students to take responsibility for their appointments and helping us maintain a fair and accessible system for all.

Locker Room Clean Out

Important Update on the Gym Locker Room

Our locker room renovation will start after spring break! Students should have cleared out all of their belongings and locks from the locker room on Friday, March 21. The locker room will be closed to all students after Friday, March 21 due to construction. Kinesiology teachers will instruct students where to change for classes. Contact Stephanie Cline with any questions.

The Power of Her

We’ve shared plans with the extended Carondelet community and now look forward to strong partnership and investment in this important project. The sooner we fund this campaign, the sooner our students will be in their new space, using it to maximize their promise and potential every day. This project is five months—start to finish—so if we fundraise fast we can break ground this spring and be ready to welcome students to the Boscacci Performance Center as they start school in the Fall.

The Power of Her takes the Power of Us… please reach out to your development team to continue the conversation, share ideas, and explore giving opportunities.

Thank you for using your power to empower her!
