The St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce's "Coffee with the Mayor" will be held on Friday, March 11 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in a new location for the month of March: Tiffany Hall and Rehab Center, 1800 S.E. Hilmoor Drive in Port St. Lucie. Due to a prior commitment of Mayor JoAnn Faiella's, Councilman Jack Kelly will be the speaker at this event.

Vendor booths expected to go fast for 2011 Hurricane Expo

Calling all artists to the PSL Botanical Gardens' "Spring Explosion"

The Friends of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens are inviting all artists, in any media and form, to register now for the "Spring Explosion of the Arts" to be held Sunday, March 20; Sunday, April 17; and Sunday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Entry fee is $10 per show or $25 for all three shows.

Funding cycle extended for purchase of city-owned NSP homes

The city's Neighborhood Stabilization Program is offering financial assistance to those who qualify for the purchase of city-owned, refurbished homes located in targeted areas of the city. The application cycle will end on March 18 for moderate/middle income households but will continue to be open for low income households until further notice. Get details

Police volunteer program valued at more than $430,000 in 2010

The Port St. Lucie Police Department's Volunteer Program Annual Report for 2010 was recently released, showing that 312 volunteers provided a total of 20,706 volunteer hours last year. These hours have been valued at $431,710. Get details

City's serious crime rate decreases in 2010

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement's 2010 Crime Trends in Florida report has been released, and the City of Port St. Lucie has shown an overall 9.4 percent reduction in serious crimes compared to 2009 statistics. Get details
