Dear Families,
March 13 marks our first anniversary of the last day of school before Distance Learning began. It was quite the Friday, the 13th! While this year has certainly brought us many challenges, much uncertainty, and moments of worry and unsettledness, we do have things to celebrate! It is very likely that we have never demonstrated as much resilience, flexibility, perseverance, empathy and openness to change as we had to this past year. We learned a lot – about ourselves, about our families, about our work and learning styles, and about ‘what is really important’. For many of us, it may have increased our appreciation for less busy lives, for family time, for reading and relaxing, and for taking care of ourselves and each other. I know I have an increased amount of gratitude for my personal family and friends and our Forest Hills community for reminding me of the joy each member brings to me. May you take some time with your family to reflect upon this past year to acknowledge the struggles and celebrate the goodness the year has brought us. I am confident that our lives will forever be impacted by our past year’s experiences.
