From The Pastor's Desk...

Greetings in the name of our Lord!

Our Lenten journey continues - soon to include cars!  We will be returning to parking lot worship on Sunday, March 21 - the week after daylight savings (so there's no clock confusion).  However, the very next week is Palm Sunday (3/28), and then Easter - so very much is on its way!  Ideas for how to celebrate Holy Week/Easter and when to begin gathering in the sanctuary are being discussed.  We want to open the sanctuary as soon as possible, while being sure to not exclude people who would like to be vaccinated before gathering, and of course keeping an eye on transmission rates.  Virtual worship options will continue so that all are welcomed into our worship.

While we await announcements for Holy Week and future gatherings, we continue to share in ministry.  In the short run, I have two announcements/requests/invitations:
A.)  We've had a very faithful stewardship team for many years.  I would like for us to build on what they've accomplished by adding several members who would help us with a spring "time and talents" series of invitations.  Would YOU be willing to join in discussions on how to invite people into active ministry at Lord of Life, especially as we "re-open"?  There are many ministries that need volunteers of all kinds, but the core to getting volunteers is to have a stewardship team helping people match their gifts, interests, and activity levels to the dreams and ministries of our congregation.  I am imagining 2 X 2-hour retreat-style sessions in April, and monthly follow up meetings through the summer.  Meetings will likely be in-person with Zoom options, and will bless your own inspiration and spiritual growth.
B.)  Our first major in-person spring event will be our Egg Hunt to kick off Holy Week.  The biggest thing you can do is invite kids 5th grade and younger - weekly e-blasts will have invitations attached that you can forward electronically or print and share.  If you would like to donate eggs, activities, or your time (March 28 from 2-4pm), please contact Breanne.  However, the main thing we need is you inviting folks to come and celebrate - volunteers serve best when we  have folks there to care for!
I can't wait for our journeys to involve cars coming to our campus on a regular basis.  Until then, continue to join our virtual options on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Peace,
Pastor Wendolyn

Diversity Discussion Group,
Thursday, March 25th, 1:00 PM:

We had a wonderful discussion of "Love Is The Way" this week.  Some of us would like to continue exploring the topic of diversity and meet once a month.  I am proposing a "Diversity Discussion" group, and that we have our first meeting on Thursday, March 25th at 1:00 PM via ZOOM.  If the weather permits, it could be in the church parking lot. (It has to be above 50 degrees, sunny, and not windy!)  Please let me know if you are interested, and then we will plan the meeting topic.

********
On The Horizon:
Other Events Coming Soon!
We are hoping for warmer weather to allow more parking lot activities.  If the temperature is above 50 degrees, we may try a Reverse Scavenger Hunt and other things that can be done outdoors.  Keep watch for more details!

Join The Lord Of Life:
 Meals For Members Ministry

Occasionally, a church member or family has a temporary need for which Lord Of Life has given them support by providing dinner meals.  It might be an illness, recovering from surgery, a house fire, or readjusting a lifestyle due to a death of a family member.
We currently have a few individuals who are a part of the group, but we can use additional support.  The more members that can be involved, the fewer meals will be needed to be prepared by one individual or household.  Normally, the meal is prepared and delivered to either the home of whom we are supporting or the church on the day it will be eaten.
Please consider joining us in this ministry!  If you want to be included, contact the church office by phone (609-268-0262) or email (lordlife@lordlife.us).

Thank you everyone for your anticipated support!

Knitted Baby Hats Needed!

In the past, Lord Of Life has presented knitted baby caps to newborns.  Pastor Wendolyn is hoping to reestablish this practice and is asking for members to, again, knit the hats.  The hats will help celebrate the child's birth and can provide a means of outreach from our congregation.
Once a hat is completed, it can be dropped off at the church.  Near the quilting table in the Narthex, there will be a hot pink shopping bag with a sign on it that says "Baby Hats."  When the church is closed, they can be placed in a plastic bag and dropped into the Christian Caring Center bin by the kitchen entrance.
If you have questions or need more information, please contact Janell Reich.  A link to her email is below.

Partners In Mission:
Our Regular Collection Continues

BOP food pantry is in need of canned soups (for the colder weather), cans of tuna or chicken, along with the regular items (Parmalot, cereal, pancake mix, syrup, etc.).  Our collection container remains located outside the LOL church kitchen entrance, and there is a collection cart in the church entryway.
Thank you everyone for your support!

Partners In Mission:
Delivery Made On February 24th

Dave Curl transported another cardload of items to the CCC last week.  The cart in the church entryway was full of donations and the area around the cart had more items that would have filled a second cart.  Thank you all church members for your generous support!

We Continue Our Support Of
The CCC

Our regular collection is ongoing, and your support is greatly appreciated.  During the winter months, blankets and heavy clothing will be in need.  Hand operated can openers and canned food with pull tabs are especially welcomed.  Please use the blue container outside the kitchen doorway or the cart in the church entryway for your donations.
Thank you for your support!

Our Ending Hymn:
This song was sung by our choir several years ago as one of its anthems.  It is a piece written by Billy James Foote, a contemporary song composer.  It is well know by many.  The full title is "Your Are My King (Amazing Love)", but many just title it "Amazing Love".  Enjoy!

"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
