THE WITNESS

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be associated with them. For once you were darkness, but now in the Lord you are light. Live as children of light- for the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true. Try to find out what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what such people do secretly; but everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,
"Sleeper, awake! Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

Wednesday Night Program

Zephaniah may not be among the Bible's most familiar books. In fact, before Kirk was born, I mentioned to a regular churchgoer that we were considering naming him Zephaniah, and her response was "That's a beautiful name! Where did you get it?"

But for many people from troubled backgrounds -- for many who have suffered through abuse, addiction or incarceration -- the words of Zephaniah are intensely familiar and deeply cherished. His prophecy offers unique comfort, support and promise.

So on Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30, come join me, Robert Stamper, and let's enjoy an easy-going, fresh, fun discussion about Zephaniah -- the man and his book, it's meaning and impact. No preparation or previous attendance necessary! Hope to see you then.

Host Needed

We need 8 or 9 members willing to host Maundy Thursday celebration services in their homes. There will be a meal at each home with a communion service led by a minister or elder afterward. If you can be a host, please let the office know by Tuesday, March 31st.

Books Needed

Rick Adle will be teaching the "Simon Peter-Flawed But Faithful Disciple" book to the men's Bible study that he attends.  If you took this class last year at EPC, and want to recycle your book, for another person to use, please bring your book to the church office. If you want your book back after Mr. Adle finishes teaching, put your name in it and a note so he can get it back to you. He needs at least three books.

Are you interested in reviewing your financial health for retirement and other long-range support planning? We have a certified fiduciary in the church who is willing to discuss this with folks in general and also meet with you confidentially, at no charge. If you are interested in this seminar and service, please let the church office know.

  Books

The office has a small batch of books donated to the church for the enjoyment of the EPC members. Visit the church office to pick up a book or two.
