Happy Friday to you!  Next week is one of the traditions at TRCS that students love the most - 4/5 week and Outdoor School! Our entire staff has spent weeks getting the details finalized so that all students will have a memorable week. We do not have cell service at Bar M Ranch but we hope to get a couple updates out during the week. I am really looking forward to the week at Bar M Ranch as this is my first ODS experience as well! Ms. Elston will be leading 4/5 week. Please see the weather update from Bar M Ranch below, and plan accordingly! I also want to wish everybody an amazing spring break! I hope it is a time for family, fun and relaxation!

Mindset thought of the week: “Why waste ti me proving over and over how great you are, when you could be getting better? Why hide deficiencies instead of overcoming them? Why look for friends or partners who will just shore up your self-esteem instead of ones who will also challenge you to grow? And why seek out the tried and true, instead of experiences that will stretch you? The passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (or especially) when it’s not going well, is the hallmark of the growth mindset. This is the mindset that allows people to thrive during some of the most challenging times in their lives.” – Carol Dweck

Our auction is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our community, get to know and connect with other families, enjoy a night out with dinner and a show, and go home with fabulous auction items, all in support of TRCS!

All families are encouraged to attend and invite friends, neighbors, and family.

We have some exciting new auction items to share with you…
  • A Helicopter Wine Tasting Experience!
  • “Fixer Upper” package which includes a deep home cleaning, handy services labor, and interior design consulting
  • Falconry Outing
  • Portland Timbers Tickets
  • Golf
  • Fitness Memberships
  • Certificates to arts and crafts classes, cooking classes, escape rooms, local and downtown restaurants, walking tours and more!

THEMED BASKETS
Tawny Friedman is putting together 3 themed baskets for our silent auction. This is where families may choose to contribute an item based on one of the following themes:
In the Kitchen; Family Game Night; Artsy & Craftsy
Items can be brought to school where Tawny will collect them for packaging; participation is voluntary.  This list includes some suggestions for each theme and we encourage you to be creative! Tawny can be reached at [email protected] to address your questions .

ITEM DONATIONS – Due April 1st
Now is the time to secure verbal commitments for donations as we begin to prepare items for the auction. Item donations along with the completed Item Donation Form can be dropped off at the TRCS office or contact us to make arrangements for an item pick-up. All Item Donations are due by April 1 st .

VOLUNTEERS
We are looking for auction day volunteers:
  • Have some time available during the day to help us set up?
  • Are you comfortable with computers and data entry, and are available to work the duration of the auction to process registrations and sales?
  • We also need extra hands to monitor the silent auction, record live auction bidding, and assist the check in/out team throughout the evening.

Please contact Stephanie at [email protected] or 413.896.5512 if you are able to volunteer.

We are getting close; when we return from spring break we will have just 2 weeks before the auction! So, grab your tickets and spread the word. This is going to be a very entertaining and exciting evening you will not want to miss – the more the merrier!

TRCS Fundraising Committee

6th, 7th & 8th Graders!

Please make sure you have your alarms set for Monday morning and your student is in the parking lot at Athey Creek Church by 9:00 am with all of their gear! Remember to pack for cold weather (layers are important!), as there is snow on the ground at Bar M Ranch. Muffins are still needed, so please sign up now!
4th & 5th Graders!

Next week is jam-packed full of fun, educational activities, as well as dress up theme days! Please see the schedule here. We are looking forward to a week of great friends and learning experiences. Thank you to all of our volunteers who will be helping us make the week happen.
Please note, there is NO after school care offered during 4/5 week!
Spring Arena Conferences

On April 8th, we will be holding our Spring Conferences. These conferences are completely optional. They will be arena style - all of our teachers will be in the "Valley" (the middle hallway), and ready to meet with you for short conferences of 5-10 minutes. This is a great time to check in on progress, ask any questions of our staff about the upcoming IP, or have any concerns addressed for the recent Term 2 report cards. Be sure to check through Chalk as well, if you choose to attend. We invite parents & students to come between 1:00-3:00 pm or 5:00-7:00 pm on 4/8/19.
TRCS 2019-20 Master Schedule Focus Groups

As we look toward the 2019/20 school year we would appreciate your feedback on a few calendar variations. Please consider joining us on either Thursday, April 4 or Thursday, April 11 at 3:15pm for a chance to look at the 2019-20 school year and provide your input. We will also be pushing out a survey after the April 4th meeting for those who cannot attend either meeting. Our hope is to have the final calendar for the 2019/20 school year ready to publish on or before April 15th. Thank you and we hope you will join us!
