2021-2022 Tuition Update
To the Crossroads Community,

The Crossroads Board of Trustees is dedicated to keeping an education at Crossroads as affordable as possible while maintaining the excellence of the education Crossroads provides. After considerable discussion and thought, the Board approved, at its March 2, 2021 meeting, Crossroads Academy’s tuition for the 2021-2022 academic year: $15,250 for Kindergarten, $20,950 for grades one through five, and $21,950 for grades six through eight.

As a Board, we are committed to supporting Crossroads Academy’s unique Core Knowledge and Core Virtues Programs and to attracting and retaining the most dedicated and talented teachers possible. Even with careful budgeting, tuition revenue at Crossroads—consistent with most independent schools—does not cover the operating expenses of the school. The shortfall is covered by generous donations of our community members and external grants, primarily to the Crossroads Fund.

We thank all of you who support Crossroads in so many ways. The school wouldn’t be what it is without you.

David Kahn Chair
Board of Trustees
Note from Jean Behnke
Dear Parents,

We are coming up on the anniversary of when school closed last spring. It seems like it has been longer than a year, doesn’t it? So much changed on that day. COVID has changed the way we interact with one another and with your children. And, oddly enough, it has given us opportunities to do things in some new and creative ways.

Admissions Update
Re-Enrollment Contracts Schedule

Re-enrollment season is right around the corner! We anticipate full classes in many grades once again, and because of this, we want you to be well-informed about the enrollment timeline. Contracts for the 2021-2022 school year are expected to be released this Wednesday, March 10, with contracts for financial aid recipients to be released on April 5. There is limited space available for new students in most classes, so it will be very important to enroll by the deadline of March 24 (April 19 for financial aid recipients). Enrolling by the deadline will allow us to know the available spaces for new students. Mark your calendars! Thank you.
Middle School Construction Update
Brad Choyt, our intrepid Fanger Center Campaign Leader, reports that walls are starting to go up inside the new building! Despite the snow and ice, our valiant construction crew is moving steadily forward towards our goal of an opening on or before the first day of classes in the fall. Brad will continue his efforts to finalize planning for furniture and landscaping. These finishing touches will make the new building truly feel like part of our beautiful campus. He reminds us that there may be specific giving opportunities ahead for all those critically important final pieces of the puzzle. We will look forward to hearing from him about these opportunities in the days and months ahead, so stay tuned!
COVID Updates
Health Office Update

As of yesterday, Grafton county has 180 identified active cases of COVID-19. Lyme has zero active cases, Hanover has 107 active cases, and Lebanon has seven active cases. Many of the current Hanover cases are connected to the Dartmouth College outbreak.
Vaccination Update!

This was a busy weekend for our faculty and staff. Forty-five percent of Crossroads staff have been vaccinated, with at least one dose, against COVID. That is almost half of our staff! Incredible. All tolerated the vaccine well and are back at work today. For our staff who were not eligible to get vaccinated this past weekend, their turn is coming. Crossroads is participating in a closed-pod vaccination clinic at DHMC on March 27. All faculty and staff who want to be vaccinated will have the opportunity before the month’s end. We are happy to see our colleagues gain protection for themselves, their family, and our community.

Update to Crossroads Academy Close-Contact Policy

Those who are fully vaccinated, as defined by NH DHHS, or those within 90 days of prior SARS-CoV2 infection that was diagnosed by PCR or antigen test, will not not be excluded from school after close contact exposure.

COVID Symptom Reminder

  • Please notify the health office when your child is absent or distant learning due any listed symptoms. In an effort to reduce the amount of time missed from in-person school, please do not return your child to school without consultation with the health office. During the pandemic, and likely through June, we will continue to follow the pandemic policy and require negative test results or a 10 day exclusion from school for any new or unexplained symptom.

  • NH DHHS continues to advise that schools test mild symptomatic, school-age, children. If your child has any of these symptoms for another explainable reason, (e.g., spring allergies) please notify the health office prior to the symptom onset at school. If we do not have documentation from you, or your physician, prior to the symptom onset, we will continue to follow the pandemic policy and require negative test result to return to school.
General Updates
MATHCOUNTS Results are in!

Middle schoolers David, Gael, and Roxane recently competed in the MATHCOUNTS Chapter Invitational against a select group of mathletes from our area.

Gael placed 5th, David 3rd, and Roxane 1st!

They are all advancing to the MATHCOUNTS State competition, scheduled for March 25.

Give these mathletes an air high-five if you see them around campus!

We wish them all the best at States!
Art Updates

All artwork will be sent home in an art portfolio at the end of the school year. With COVID safety protocols this year and limits to get on campus and into our buildings, Mrs. Nadeau has provided a little snapshot of our hallway displays and artworks in-progress!

Fifth Grade Persuasive Speech Contest

One highlight of the fifth grade program with Mr. Chappuis is the persuasive speech contest. Each student researches local non-profit organizations and selects one to become the focus of their work. Students then write, edit, and practice delivering the speeches to convince an audience to volunteer or donate to their non-profit of choice. The audience, students and teachers via Zoom, voted based on the most convincing delivery. This year's runners up were Arya Ivatury and Isaac Welch. The first place award went to Brady Drury, who delivered a speech about Habitat for Humanity. The class will hold a fundraiser to raise money and awareness for Brady's chosen non-profit.

Congratulations to all of the students on their excellent work!!
