Outreach in Southern, Eastern ID
Idaho schools and libraries are starting to host in-person events again, and in the last month I visited 12 communities and sparked conversations and ideas with 669 kids and adults in Eastern and Southern Idaho.
At the 5th Annual Science Night in Rupert, Idaho, more than 300 kids and families explored scientific principles and inventions with 15 companies, including DeMary Memorial Library, Idaho Power, and ISEE STEM. IdahoPTV's magnetometer station was a big hit, with kids using iron shavings to detect hidden magnets in a field.

IdahoPTV in Your Neighborhood
“I just really appreciate the presence that PBS has had in our community and the effort [staff] made to be involved—to travel and participate in our events, and to help plan events and promote learning,” Lankford says. "The quality of our events is because of the presence of PBS.”
