The conventional uniformitarian science institutions have concluded for many decades that the Earth, its geology, and its life are hundreds of millions to billions of years old. They rely on radiometric dating by slow decaying radioactive elements like uranium to "prove" that. However, many evidences have recently come to light that demand a radically different conclusion. These evidences excite some of us and greatly perplex conventional science. Most of the scientific establishment remains in a state of denial. We will see how the puzzle pieces fit together to reveal a self-consistent big picture of a young creation. 

 

One of the most spectacular evidences to appear in the news is the discovery of soft biological tissue still inside some large dinosaur bones. To great surprise of the science community, this tissue has not been completely replaced by minerals. It still has the clear structural and biochemical markers expected of reptilian bones and associated tissues. Over the last ten years many biomolecular details have emerged solidly proving that this soft tissue is from dinosaurs. This is a large problem for the conventional view of "deep time" because no one can show how soft tissue structures could remain intact anywhere near a hundred million years. Some claim to be able to imagine how this could happen but they cannot model it and make testable predictions consistent with the observed data.

 

Creationists have often suggested that these dinosaur soft tissues should be dated by their radioactive C-14 content. C-14 decays away so fast that it can last no more than a hundred thousand years - not a hundred million! The science establishment has generally ignored this option because they just "know" that these dinosaurs existed at least 65 million years ago. All of the C-14 would be completely gone for anything over a hundred thousand years.

 

But several well qualified scientists who are creationists have C-14 dated samples of these soft tissues. The dating labs date these samples to ages around thirty to forty thousand years! This result has now been well confirmed by multiple observers with samples from multiple types of dinosaurs in multiple locations.

 

Moreover, these results are consistent with the fact that C-14 has long been observed in carbon bearing rock and fossil material throughout the geologic column. This has been verified by many measurements made by the secular science establishment, but this C-14 data has long been dismissed as contamination. Actually, no adequate natural cause of contamination can be shown that would result in contamination throughout the geologic column given the ages possible with C-14. We at the GHCA suggest that only a recent, violent and worldwide flood ripped up everything down to what is now the Great Unconformity and then redeposited that material to form most of the geologic column we see today. That could explain the existence of C-14 throughout the geologic column. This flood would have to occur within the C-14 decay time of several tens of thousands of years or less.

 

But wait, what could be wrong with the long trusted slow decaying isotope dating methods? In this dating method there are seven assumptions made and used in the sample analysis. We will show that these assumptions can explain how the slow decay method can produce dates wrong by more than a factor of a thousand. We will also examine several geological situations that clearly demonstrate such large discrepancies.
