Salem Medical Center Announces Opening of On-Site Retail Pharmacy

SMC is pleased to announce the availability of retail pharmacy services on-site at Salem Medical Center beginning in March.

“Salem Pharmacy and Surgical will soon begin filling prescriptions for both SMC patients and the community-at-large,” said Dr. Tammy Torres, CEO. “Whether you’re here for an outpatient procedure, care in our Emergency Department, or as an inpatient, your prescription can be filled and ready for you prior to leaving the hospital.”

The pharmacy is located in the Main Lobby.

Community members with prescriptions from their doctor can have them filled and ready-for-pick up here at SMC as well.

In addition to filling prescriptions, Salem Pharmacy & Surgical offers several special services to meet everyone’s pharmaceutical needs.

Salem Pharmacy & Surgical offers a Unit Dose Dispensing System in weekly or monthly “Bingo Cards” making it easier for patients to stay on track with their medications. Adherence packaging divides all medications into morning, afternoon and evening doses.

The pharmacy is also capable of receiving prescriptions via the Electronic Prescribing System which creates a safe, secure exchange of prescriptions between doctor and pharmacist, minimizes turn-around time, and maximizes security and accuracy of the prescription process.

Salem Pharmacy & Surgical also offers automatic refill requests and courtesy calls, free delivery, pharmacist availability, and customer care.

An extensive list of over-the-counter and natural healthcare products will also be available at the Pharmacy.

“We are happy to welcome Salem Pharmacy & Surgical and look forward to working with them to meet all of our patient’s pharmaceutical needs,” said Torres.

The Pharmacy will be open:
·        Monday to Friday
9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
·        Saturday
9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
·        Closed Sunday

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Thursday, March 17 at 2 p.m. in the Main Lobby.
