Collaboration Key to 2022 Veteran's StandDown
The Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance (AVSA), established in 2013, is a program of the Arizona Housing Coalition that holds annual events and resource fairs in 13 of Arizona’s 15 counties, including the nation's largest event of its kind, the annual Maricopa County StandDown. These events allow veterans and their families who are experiencing housing instability and homelessness to get and stay connected to supportive services.

The HSC and its partners are proud to collaborate with Arizona Housing Coalition to provide holistic services for this year's event on March 17th at the Arizona State Fairgrounds. Participating on-Campus organizations include AZ Dept. of Economic Services, Catholic Charities, Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS), Circle the City, Community Bridges (CBI), Homeless ID Project and Maricopa County; with more partners expected to commit to participate over the next couple of weeks. Additional off-Campus collaborative partners include Mercy Care, UMOM and others.

HSC also oversees volunteer opportunities for the event:

"By supporting this event, you're empowering individuals who are experiencing hardship to become self-sufficient through quality employment, allowing them to turn their lives around." Brent Downs, SJW Executive Director
