Mardi Paw: Jazz, Masks, Beads, and Animals!
Thank you for helping us make our 2022 Gala for Animals a wild success!
|
|
Our annual 2022 Gala for Animals was this last Saturday, and we were thrilled to let the good times (and treats) roll for our first ever in-person gala as Animal Friends Alliance. Our theme, Mardi Paw, ended up being everything that a good party promises for over 400 attendees with our mystery mask bags, beads, signature cocktail the "furricane", 24 Magnificent Beasts, 186 silent auction items, a game of "Whisker or Tails" that ended in the winner giving the prize away to the runner-up, a complimentary photo booth run by the incredible Silver Paw Studio, 7 great live auction packages, awards, and of course, animals!

One of our very special guests during the evening included an urgent medical case Animal Friends Alliance took on earlier this year. Moo, now Tsuki, was a dog who came to the Alliance with a large, painful abscess on her neck that would have been life-threatening without swift treatment. Our veterinary team, as well as Tsuki's skilled foster, worked hard to care for her wound, alleviate her discomfort, and eventually find her a loving family!
We're proud of the work we did with Tsuki and other difficult medical cases we've taken on this year, and can only take on these extraordinary medical cases thanks to your support. You can see Tsuki's story and more animals we've been able to help this last year in the beautiful video below, made by Autumn Parry Photography for our Mardi Paw event.
Thank you again to everyone who helped us make Mardi Paw a fantastic party with a purpose! All of you are the reason why we're able to help so many animals every year.

Help Amiya Find the Home she Deserves!
|
Meet Amiya! Amiya is a special kitty who was rescued from an animal hoarding situation in Arkansas and then transferred to us.
Amiya originally would dart and hide whenever someone moved and would swat when someone would try to pet her. She has come a long way since being moved to our Community Engagement office, and has really opened up and shown us her sweet, silly personality! She can most commonly be found on the Community Engagement Administrator's desk looking out the window, chatting with cute little happy chirps, or rolling around and demanding chin and cheek scratches. Amiya needs a more relaxed home without any other animals and an owner who knows cat body language, as she's easily overstimulated with full-body pets. But her quirks, such as the adorable tail shake she does when she's happy, make her so loveable and endearing!
Come meet Amiya at our Mulberry campus in our Community Engagement office, or you can complete an adoption questionnaire by visiting our website. If you're not in a place to adopt a special cat like Amiya, you can also donate to support her care!

Some of you may remember this little escape artist from his time on the run! Hockley was an incredibly anxious pup that came to us after his owner passed away. He didn’t trust anyone after that trauma, and would bolt any time he was startled, even when he was hooked up to a collar and harness and multiple leashes. Hockley was also heart worm positive, and needed a lot of care. Thankfully, Hockley, now called Huck, found an amazing home in December 2021, only one day after being available for adoption! His adopters report:
"We bought a house in Loveland on the 11th and had some busy times. He's had his warming up period to a backyard and he's a strong believer in morning walks still. Loving a quieter area and will be good timing in the summer for some long outdoor times to enjoy.
He's gotten super comfortable with Agustina and only takes to liking me when he's wanting some butt scratches, but that is more and more often. He's great with our house warming party. Doing well!"
We're so happy to hear this! Thank you for loving and caring for Huck so well. Have a "Happy Tail" about an animal you adopted from us? Email Marketing@SavingAnimalsToday.org to have it shared!
