Project Phases:

Our project work moves through a process that's divided into four phases: Defining, Planning, Execution and Completion. For detailed definitions of each project phase, go here

EXECUTION PHASE

Community Recreation Center – Restoration Project

Work at the Community Recreation Center continues to move forward as the project nears its final phase. The new Registration Desk is nearing completion and will soon be ready to welcome guests in an updated, more functional space.

Looking ahead, installation of first-floor carpeting—the final phase of the project—is scheduled to begin the week of March 30. This work will bring a refreshed, cohesive look to the facility and mark an important milestone as the restoration project approaches completion.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS & EQUIPMENT - The Board reviewed and approved several capital related items focused on maintaining and enhancing District facilities and operations. Improvements include new carpeting at the Community Recreation Center, helping to refresh high-use spaces and improve the overall visitor experience. The Board also approved the purchase of maintenance vehicles and equipment. These investments reflect a commitment to proactive maintenance and long-term asset management.

FINANCE UPDATE - The February financial update provided an overview of revenues and expenditures early in the fiscal year. Overall, financial activity remains in line with budget expectations, positioning the District well to support ongoing operations, capital projects, and increased programming as the spring and summer seasons approach.

SUMMER CAMP PREPARATION - As summer approaches, staff provided an update on preparations for seasonal programming, including summer camps. Planning efforts are well underway, with a focus on staffing, program structure, and overall readiness to meet community demand. The District continues to prioritize safe, engaging, and high-quality experiences for participants, while also working to accommodate strong interest in summer offerings.

PARTNERSHIPS - The Board reviewed updates to several partnership agreements that support services and amenities within the District. This includes an amendment to an existing Verizon Wireless agreement and an update on the Campfire Sauna contract. These discussions reflect the District’s ongoing efforts to manage partnerships thoughtfully, ensuring they align with community needs and provide value to residents.

NSSRA UPDATE - The Board received an update from the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA), highlighting continued collaboration in providing inclusive recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities. NSSRA programs remain an important part of the District’s commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and serving all members of the community.
