New Councilmember and County Supervisor Talk Policy and Priorities at Chamber Roundtable

Local business leaders gathered at Glen Annie Golf Club the last week of February to hear from Goleta's newest City Councilmember, James Kyriaco, and Second District Supervisor, Gregg Hart. The Meet New Leaders Issue and Policy Roundtable was put on by the Goleta Chamber of Commerce and is an annual event to highlight newly elected officials and other prominent civic leadership positions.  The event was lead by Goleta Chamber Board Member Trevor Large, who is an attorney at Buynak Fauver Archbald Spray.

The Chamber's core mission is to improve the local economy and jobs. A major barrier has been housing for the workforce and transportation for employees commuting to work. Commuter Rail offers employees living out of the area a relaxing ride to work and  makes public transit an increasingly viable option for commuters.

The early-morning train service to Goleta is nearing it's one year anniversary. While there is a steady stream of customers using the service, ridership could increase significantly.

If you're a commuter, you don't have to worry about getting stranded at work because Traffic Solutions offers an  Emergency Ride Home Program  for bus and train commuters, as well as carpoolers and van poolers.

The Chamber is considering offering an Uber code for commuters who may need it. If you have feedback on an Uber code being offered or if you would like more information on alternative transportation solutions for your employees, please contact [email protected].

For the past 11 years the Chamber has worked with the City of Goleta to bring you a State of the City presentation featuring rich and detailed content that your business needs to know. This very popular event is a who's who in Goleta with great networking, delicious lunch and photo opportunities with your business or group. For more information about the event or sponsored tables, contact Michele Schneider at  [email protected]

The Goleta Magazine has been the premier source for information on Goleta for the past 32 years. The annual magazine has a distribution of 7,500 and readership of 45,000.  It is the go-to source for living, playing and working in Goleta and captures the stories of the great people who make our community so unique.

This beautiful publication has a year-long shelf life and is the official publication of the Goleta Chamber of Commerce. It is the official relocation guide for professionals and retirees moving to Goleta.

Advertising space is rapidly filling up. To guarantee your inclusion in the magazine, please email [email protected] expressing your interest no later than April 10th.
