Spring Break Camp: A Week of Fun
April showers aren’t the only thing that bring May flowers! Pollinator species play a MAJOR role in helping plants grow too. Learn all about pollinators at Spring Break Camp at the Zoo, geared toward children ages 6-9.

Campers will explore the world of pollination through science demonstrations, crafts, special guests, animal encounters, games, and more. From butterflies to bees to birds and bats, campers will learn about pollinator species, and understand their importance to the ecosystem. Campers will even leave camp with resources to start their own pollinator garden at home!

Spring Break Camp is Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10, 9 am - 3 pm each day. The cost is $165 for Zoo members and $180 for non-members. Before and after care is also available.

Sunday Evening Safari

Evening Safaris are a fun and easy way to learn more about nature and participate in wildlife conservation! They're especially great for groups of friends, families, or scouts.

All our Evening Safaris include a project to use at home , as well as learning about conservation and animal experiences.

Evening Safaris are $8 per participant for members and $10 per participant for non members (babies 2 and under are free).

FrogWatch Citizen Scientists

The Potawatomi Zoo is hosting a second FrogWatch training on March 22, from 2-5 pm. FrogWatch is a family-friendly citizen science program started by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Training is open to the public, but registration is requested.

During FrogWatch training, volunteers learn about amphibian biology and how to collect data about the sounds of local frogs and toads for scientists all over the country to use. They are also taught how to monitor frog and toad populations based on the calls they hear and report the information they collect. All FrogWatch data is uploaded to a freely accessible database for scientists to use.

FrogWatch is an invaluable resource for amphibian conservation and a huge help to scientists studying the environment and ecosystems. Although the training session is designed for adults, we encourage volunteers to include their families in the monitoring sessions, because it’s such a great way to get outside and learn about local wildlife.

Last Winter Day
Join us for the last Winter Day of the year Saturday, March 7! It should be a gorgeous day to ride the train, see the animals, feed the goats, eat a hot dog or whatever else you like to do at the Zoo!

Winter Days are 12-3 pm. They are FREE for Potawatomi Zoo members and only $5.50 per person for everyone else. You can also buy a $5 activity wristband to do a special craft in the Learning Center.

See you there!
