It’s time to start planning your garden and trading seeds with your neighbors! Join us for our annual Co-op Seed Swap on Saturday March 7th from 10-1pm in the Co-op Mall Hallway. It's free and we usually have hundreds of seed packets to share. Bring seeds to share and/or pick seeds to take home to plant this growing season. We’ll also have a tips and tricks on successful seed starting, sowing techniques, and transplanting. Whether you're starting a pollinator flower patch or a vegetable garden, stock up on unique seeds you'll enjoy watching grow.

Learn how to grow your own garden in your apartment, small patio, or balcony and plant seeds to start your very own garden in this class. This class will cover seed starting, container gardening, and the perfect herbs, veggies, and other plants to grow in this small setting. Each attendee will choose various seeds to grow and will sow their seeds in their own seedling tray during class to take home and care for.

Learn how to make the delicious street food of Mumbai: Pav Bhaji, a spicy mixed vegetable dish served with toasted pav bread. Sirisha is back to share how to make one of her favorite dishes, Pav Bhaji. This vegetable dish is topped with a dash of melting butter, onions and cilantro served with butter toasted pav (bread) used to mop up the spicy bhaji.

We're lucky to have one of our Co-op staff members teaching her favorite family recipe of vegan tamales including savory vegetable tamales and sweet dulces tamales with mixed berries and agave. Vivi Anne will teach how to make masa harina and salsa verde and salsa roja, two traditional spicy hot salsas. Recipes are vegan and also gluten free.

Join us for a hands on cooking class with our new Co-op teacher and Chinese home cook, Huan, who will be sharing her grandmother's famous recipe for Chinese Dumplings filled with local ground pork and fresh ginger. Huan's family is renown for their dumpling and wanton market stands in China and this class will be perfect for beginners. Huan will share tips on filing, folding, steaming, how to store freshly made dumplings, as well as the differences between dumplings and pot stickers.

This Spring, we are hosting a three part series of Mediterranean cooking classes with Chef Leah Bodine teaching classic Greek, Moroccan, and Egyptian dishes. For the first class on March 28th, learn how to make Greek lemon chicken and Greek pasta salad. Leah will share her cooking techniques, budget friendly tips, and her favorite recipes from her travels.

Learn how to make traditional French choux à la crème (Cream Puffs), the delicious pastry filled with homemade vanilla bean custard. Quentin, French home cook, will share his family's recipe in this hands-on class. Learn how to pipe the choux pastry, fill with homemade vanilla bean custard, then icing with the traditional lemon glaçage icing.
