The month of February has flown by! Since joining the Chamber team six weeks ago, I have had a full schedule of meetings with community leaders, committees, area partners, and planning sessions as well as hours of learning, listening and reading. And I love it! I’m very thankful to be serving our community in this role.
As we prepare to start a new month – with hopefully more warm sunshine than snow! - I am reminded that no matter the weather, our attitude sets the tone for everything we do. Henry Ford once said,
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right.”
This is so true! And we can never go wrong with an attitude of both gratitude and kindness. And in this Leap Year, we have an extra day - aptly called Leap of Kindness Day - to share an extra act of kindness. What better way to have that ‘can do’ spirit than to stay positive, be encouraging to others and spread some kindness each and every day. It only takes a moment to be a blessing to someone.
As I shared in last month’s newsletter, our Chamber’s focus for 2020 is on YOU - our members – and how the Chamber can best meet your business needs. We want what we do to benefit our members and add value to our community, and we are striving to build this philosophy into our initiatives, events and programs. Along with our Board of Directors and our staff, I’m excited to continue developing and implementing those plans in the coming weeks and months.
Please note the upcoming March events listed throughout this newsletter and please plan to be a part of these activities in our community! Please note also that the United States Census Day is on April 1
. This only happens once every ten years, and every family is strongly encouraged to participate.
