BOOK OF THE MONTH

In honor of Woman's History Month, we have selected a YA nonfiction title called Close-Up on War: The Story of Pioneering Photojournalist Catherine Leroy in Vietnam by Mary Cronk Farrell.

French-born Catherine Leroy was 21 years-old when she bought a one way plane ticket to photograph the Vietnam War.

With her newly purchased camera and very little training, Catherine entered the heat of the jungle and worked closely with the American soldiers in order to capture each moment.

Catherine parachuted into combat, crawled through rice patties, was wounded by shrapnel, and showed the realities of war through her photographs.

Catherine was truly a pioneer.

SQUEEZY McSQUEEZY

Hello there my dearest lemony friends,

Last night, Clementine and I hung out with the teens during Teen Night Thursday. We made brownies and cheese bread, played Superfight, watched a concert via a video game, and even had a chance to play the guitar. We had so much fun.

You should join us next Thursday at Defiance Public Library for Teen Night. They meet every Thursday from 4:00 pm until close.

Love,

Squeezy

P.S. I have one more photo I would like to share. At Sherwood Branch Library we had an Anti-Valentine's Day party. This is the end result of our Love Stinks piñata. =)
