On February 29th, the Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber's Young Professionals Network held its first event of the year at Barton 1792 Distillery. The night started with a distillery tour and continued with networking, education, and delicious food and drinks. The YP's got a sneak peak behind the scenes of how their bourbon is produced and listened to fellow YP's career journeys on how they ended up at Barton 1792. Many new YP faces mixed and mingled with existing members and formed new relationships and bonds.

Thanks again to Ross Cornelissen, Alice Russell, and their amazing team for putting on a fantastic event! Thanks to On the Rocks Bartending and Food Obsessions Catering for the savory food and delicious drinks.

Spotlight of the Month
The Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize Grandma's Homemade Ice Cream as the Spotlight of the Month.

Grandma's Homemade Ice Cream has been dedicated to serving rich, creamy ice cream since 2019. Initially launched and operated by Bardstown resident Audrey Simek at 107 Lincoln Way, Ste. E in Bardstown, Grandma’s has earned the distinction of Best Ice Cream Shop in Nelson County by the readers of the Kentucky Standard in 2020-2023. Elegantly simple ingredients go into every ice cream flavor, now made in-house by Audrey's eldest grandson, Allen Bassel, following her passing in 2023. Allen has taken on the challenge of maintaining the highest quality ice cream production, and is always working on bringing new flavors to the shop’s guests.

Grandma's offers seating for 32 in a family friendly atmosphere reminiscent of a classic ice cream parlor for families to come together and enjoy their favorite frozen treats, whether it be one of our sundaes, milkshake or malt, or banana split. We make our own classic favorites such as Belgian Chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry as well as modern sensations like peanut butter fudge swirl, coffee crunch, and maple black walnut. We even make exotic flavors like ube and lavender honey, and we're always making new flavors; if you feel like treating yourself to an old favorite or feel like trying sometime new, Grandma's Homemade Ice Cream has something for you! Curious about a flavor? We offer free samples of all flavors and even pints to enjoy at home!

Follow us on Facebook to stay up to date on all things Grandma's!
