The Power of Women in Sports

E-REP and the Evansville Regional Sports Commission (ERSC) hosted The Power of Women in Sports Luncheon on March 3. Olympic Gold Medalist Lilly King delivered a powerful keynote speech celebrating women athletes of all ages.

Dr. Hoover of the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry presented Libby Ryan, North High School senior, with the first Lilly King Award for Integrity and Athletic Excellence.

Mayor Terry also announced that a street in Garvin Park will be renamed in Lilly King's honor.

Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships

The Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships, presented by United Fidelity Bank, were held March 4–7 at the Ford Center. Tennessee State secured the men's championship title, and Western Illinois won the women's championship.

National Collegiate Association Division II Swimming & Diving Championships

The Deaconess Aquatic Center hosted the 2026 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving National Championships from March 10–14. Nova Southeastern won the women's championships, and Tampa won the men's. READ MORE

TaylorMade Plans Multimillion-Dollar Expansion

TaylorMade Golf announced a multimillion-dollar expansion of its operations in Vanderburgh County, creating up to 50 new jobs by the end of 2031.

Evansville Main Street Pavilion and Riverfront Restaurant Design Competition

E-REP and the Evansville Regional Development Corporation invite design teams to submit qualifications for two landmark buildings on the Ohio Riverfront: the Main Street Pavilion (Pavilion) and the Riverfront Restaurant (Restaurant) at the heart of Great Bend Park.

This project is part of the Ohio River Vision and Strategic Plan (ORVSP), which reimagines Evansville’s waterfront as a people-first destination and catalyst for regional growth. The Pavilion and the Restaurant will be among the first signature projects to bring this vision to life, activating the riverfront with daily activity, dining, and gathering spaces. RFQ submissions are due by 5:00 PM CDT on April 10.

Business Retention and Expansion

E-REP's Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) program helps businesses connect to workforce programs and grants, develop plans for growth, identify local sites and buildings to suit needs, and find local and state incentives to maximize opportunities. Through our BR&E program, E-REP recently visited three regional employers to learn more about their operations and identify ways regional partners can support their continued success.

Our team met with leadership at AstraZeneca’s Mount Vernon facility, which employs more than 800 people locally and produces over 6 billion tablets annually for distribution to more than 60 countries worldwide. We also visited King Mechanical Specialty in Newburgh, a locally rooted company founded in 1965 that supplies industrial valves, gauges, actuators, and instrumentation to customers across the U.S. and internationally. In addition, we conducted a BR&E visit with Fehrenbacher Cabinets, a third-generation, family-owned custom cabinetry manufacturer in Vanderburgh County known for its strong workplace culture and continued investment in advanced manufacturing technology.

BR&E visits help strengthen connections between regional businesses and partners such as the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Southwest Indiana Workforce Board, local governments, and other resource organizations. These conversations help ensure employers have the support and resources they need to grow and thrive in the Evansville Region.

Tri-State Manufacturers' Alliance (TSMA)

The TSMA Lean Peer Group visited Arc Industries to learn more about its operations and the important role that the organization fills in the Evansville region. Arc Industries connects individuals with disabilities with the tools, training, and opportunities they need to succeed and fully engage in the workforce. The organization's work creates pathways to employment while strengthening the region's workforce.

The visit facilitated conversation about opportunities for collaboration with regional manufacturers and ways to support Arc Industries in connecting current and future team members with employment opportunities across the community.

The Exchange

More than 60 leaders from education, industry, and community organizations came together on February 18 for The Exchange, our work-based learning and industry partnership workshop series.

The Exchange aims to build partnerships between education and industry by aligning goals and identifying steps to drive progress in the region.

The Young Professionals Alliance has entered an exciting new chapter with a formal paid membership model in 2026. This next step will help us grow, elevate our programming, and create an even more impactful experience for every member. Every YPA membership includes a ticket to the YPA Conference and one admission to a Lunch & Learn event.

Nonprofits, small businesses, and local manufacturers across southwestern Indiana will soon have new opportunities to lower their energy bills and strengthen their operations through three customer-focused programs announced today by the CenterPoint Energy Foundation. The new initiatives Optimize for Good, Optimize for Local, and Optimize for Growth will offer up to $25,000 in matching grant funding. MORE INFO
