Hello Ladies of the Daughters of Erin,
We had a great Board meeting planning for the Irish Breakfast and so much more. I'll keep my message short so you can read about all that's happening!
I am looking forward to seeing you all this weekend at the Irish Breakfast, March Meeting and during the coming weeks at Proclamation Day, Saint Patrick's Day, the Egg Hunt, Bowling Extravaganza and more!

MARCH MEMBERSHIP MEETING
The March meeting is immediately following the Irish Breakfast at Our Lady of Victory Church.
CHARITIES
Thank you for the many donations for the Valentine's Day gifts for West Park nursing home residents in memory of long-time member Ruth Kunkel.
March charities are helping with the Irish Breakfast, goodies and raffle baskets.
We will also assemble Charity Easter Baskets for Franklin County Children's Services, Thursday, March 21 at 5:30 pm.
The Kobacker House used some of the money we donated this year to give gifts to patients there on Valentine's Day ... balloons, flowers and a handwritten note from The Daughters of Erin.

The tentative collection in April is for Mommies Matter - items TBD.

2024 IRISH BREAKFAST
SETUP
We will be setting up, decorating and preparing the meal on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory.
VOLUNTEERS
Sign up to volunteer at the Irish breakfast on Sign-up Genius. There are many volunteer areas including breads, drinks, servers/bussers, raffle and clean up.
CALLING ALL BAKERS!
It's time to bake soda bread, brown bread, little muffins and breads (zucchini, banana or fruit). If you haven't been to the Irish Breakfast, we serve delicious breads and sweets to go with the hot breakfast. These goodies do NOT have to be homemade. Baked goods can be dropped off the day of the breakfast.
Please bring friends and family to the Daughters of Erin Annual Traditional Irish Breakfast Sunday, March 3, from 9am to 1pm at Our Lady of Victory Church, 1559 Roxbury Road, Columbus, 43212. Tickets are a suggested donation of $15 for adults and $10 for children. The menu includes eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, porridge, homemade scones, Irish breads, sweets, juice, tea and coffee.
Columbus Comhaltas will entertain a variety of festive Irish music throughout the breakfast. The Fundraising table will be set up for all your Saint Patrick's Day gifts and more.
Mass times at Our Lady of Victory are 8am and 10am.
There will be a Rowdy Raffle! Please bring donated items Saturday morning or Sunday early. Thank you!

One of the raffle items at the Irish Breakfast will be this beautiful donation. We will also have several baskets as well in the raffle. Come prepared to purchase your tickets!

2024 DAUGHTERS OF ERIN BADGE
2024 Daughters of Erin badges are $1 each or you can purchase a bag of 10 or 25 badges. The sales support the Saint Patrick's Day parade costs.
If you would like to purchase badges, they will be available the Shamrock Club, Byrne's Pub, March's meeting or by contacting Becky Ellis at 614-262-3643.

PROCLAMATION DAY
Join officers of the Clann Na nGael organizations Friday, March 8 with Mass at 8:30 am at St. Christopher Parish, 1420 Grandview Ave., Grandview.
Mass is followed by a buffet breakfast at Byrne's Pub, 1248 W. Third Ave., Grandview. The cost for the breakfast is $15 and benefits Get Behind the Badge.
The Proclamation Ceremony, honoring all the organizations honorees, is held at Columbus City Council Chambers. The ceremony begins with the Shamrock Club Pipes and Drums; arrive by 10:45 am.
The ceremony concludes by 11:45 a.m. We will march from City Hall to Broad and High streets for the "Painting of the Green."
We are gathering for lunch at Dempsey's Food & Spirits immediately following the painting of the shamrocks. All are welcome.

The parade steps off immediately following Mass on Broad St.
- The Bexley Beat Bus is available for Daughters of Erin members to ride; plan to hop on the bus after Mass.

2024 IRISH FAMILY REUNION
The 2024 Shamrock Club Irish Family Reunion is Sunday, March 17 and will be held at the Battelle Grand Ballroom at the Columbus Convention Center, 400 N. High St. Tables are $140 per table of 10. Individual tickets prices are $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 5 to 17. Children 4 and under are free.
Tables are sold on first-come basis. Karen Komatsu (614-565-2776) is coordinating table sales.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted to be brought in, and coolers will be checked. There will be food available for purchase (more to come on this) AND you may still bring your own food as in past years.
Entertainment is Richens Timm Irish Dance, Dwyer Irish Dance, The Hooligans, Rankin-Holland Irish Dance and Irwin Irish Dance Academy.

ANNUAL CHILDREN'S EGG HUNT
Thank you to everyone who came out to fill eggs! What a night, we're glad you made it home safe with all the snow! It's always a fun evening and goes quickly with the wonderful group of women and men stuffing the eggs!!

IRISH LIFE EXPERIENCE
The Irish Life Experience is a 25-day cultural academic program offered to American and Canadian high school students (June 30 to July 24, 2024). The Irish Life Experience program consists of a wide variety of classes, workshops and tours based in three locations throughout Ireland.
Request the application via the Irish Life Experience website. There are a number of pages for you to print and complete. Do not use the financial section, we do not require this. Your application must be complete and should include the following: transcript, application, counselor and teacher recommendation form.

DOE JUNIOR DIVISION
If you have daughters, granddaughters, or nieces who would like to learn more about Irish culture, participate in charitable activities, and make new friends, please reach out to us or bring them to a meeting.
The girls raised $500 this year. Their Clann na nGael honoree is the Brandy N. Mibry Foundation.
The meetings are at the same time as our meeting.

EMMET CAHILL CONCERT
Wednesday, March 13, there is a concert by internationally acclaimed, Irish tenor Emmet Cahill at St. Matthew the Apostle Church in Gahanna. Enjoy Irish tunes, church songs and classic Broadway tunes.
The event is co-sponsored by the Irish Cultural Foundation. Proceeds benefit St. Matthew Charitable Works and SPICE programs.
