About this event
This workshop is being offered through a collaboration by Center for Nonprofit Leadership, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (Santa Barbara/Ventura County Chapter), and Pepperdine University's Nonprofit Leadership Collaborative.
Research shows that governance is enhanced, community connection and responsiveness increased, and the mission of the organization is strengthened when nonprofit organizations and the Boards invest in diversity, equity and inclusion. This involves practices much broader than just building a “representative” Board to guide the organization. It is about cultivating a Board that celebrates differences and seeks to build policies and a culture that draw on the unique insights and lived experiences of all its members.
During this session, participants will:
- Assess the various types of diversity and what is appropriate for nonprofits
- Examine the process of creating an ideal Board and the role specific audit tools can play in directing effective Board recruitment
- Explore a real-world case study review on how to establish, take action, and manage for effective inclusion throughout your organization
Organizational teams are encouraged to attend.
Pending 3 CFRE Credits.
