Men's Gathering: Empowering Christian Men in Our Midst
Saturday, March 17 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
First Lutheran Church, Litchfield

This gathering offers two great topics and speakers that will talk about different ways to empower Christian men in our midst.

"3 Rules Christians Should Break."
Dr. Jacqueline Bussie is an author, professor, theologian, public speaker, and student of life in all its messy beauty. Her first book, The Laughter of the Oppressed (2007), won the national Trinity Prize. Her second book, Outlaw Christian: Finding Authentic Faith by Breaking the Rules (2016) won the 2017 Gold Medal Illumination Award for Christian Living. Her third book, Love Without Limits: Jesus' Radical Vision for a Love with No Exceptions, will be released in August, 2018. An active servant-leader in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Jacqueline teaches religion, theology, and interfaith studies classes at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, where she also serves as the Director of the Forum on Faith and Life.
At our gathering, she will be speaking on her award-winning book, Outlaw Christian, and giving a dynamic talk, "3 Rules Christians Should Break."
Books will be available at the gathering for $10.

"Mobilizing for Congregational Vitality"
Rev. Dr. Bill Nelsen, currently Interim President of Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, will be speaking from his parish experiences as a pastor in our synod, his work with ELCA colleges, and from his experiences as a seminary president in a dierent denominational setting. He will invite us into the work of developing a strategic vision with everyone involved, specically including:
* Taking seriously God's mission for your church (and why this matter's in today's world!)
* Getting people involved early and often
* Reaching new people in new and old ways
* Using your synod and church to great advantage
* Finding joy in congregational renewal and outreach

Registration Information:
The gathering cost will be $40 per person or $60 per congregation for as many men as you can invite from your congregation.
