Feb. 24 - April 6 - Water/Ways Smithsonian Exhibit - The Jeanerette Museum Board of Directors, in cooperation with Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities (LEH), will examine water as an environmental necessity and an important cultural element as it hosts “Water/Ways,” a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street (MoMS) program. March 9 - St. Patrick's Day Turn the Bayou Country Green - The members of Fir Mairseail Nua Iberia, Grand Marshall Jerry Shea, local dignitaries and representatives, and Special Olympians will join Mayor Freddie DeCourt as he opens the valve to turn the plaza fountain water Irish green. The minstrel group Whiskey Bay Rovers will entertain the crowd with Irish and traditional music and dance. March 14 - Atchafalaya Houseboat - An evening with Gwen Roland, the author of Atchafalaya Houseboat. Roland brings an insight into living on a houseboat she and Calvin Voisin built that few others can. They lived peacefully off of the land for nearly a decade in the swamp. March 17 - St. Patrick's Day March and Celebration - The members of Fir Mairseail Nua Iberia, Grand Marshall Jerry Shea, volunteers, Berry Queens, members of the New Iberia City Police and Fire Departments and vehicles, Special Olympians, and members of Irish Marching clubs will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with an annual march down Main Street from the Civic Center to the Bridge Street intersection, handing out doubloons, candies, carnations and beads.
