March 14 - Atchafalaya Houseboat - An evening with Gwen Roland, the author of Atchafalaya Houseboat. Roland brings an insight into living on a houseboat she and Calvin Voisin built that few others can. They lived peacefully off of the land for nearly a decade in the swamp. March 17 - St. Patrick's Day March and Celebration - The members of Fir Mairseail Nua Iberia, Grand Marshall Jerry Shea, volunteers, Berry Queens, members of the New Iberia City Police and Fire Departments and vehicles, Special Olympians, and members of Irish Marching clubs will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with an annual march down Main Street from the Civic Center to the Bridge Street intersection, handing out doubloons, candies, carnations and beads.
