FAMILY NEWSLETTER March 2023

Welcome to the March

St. Jude's Family Newsletter!

As we enter into the second week of Lent, let us focus on ways to prepare our minds and hearts for Jesus' passion and enter into this penitential season with a focus on prayer, fasting and almsgiving. "Lent is a time to try to be our best selves, to take up new practices that lead us toward God, and to leave behind practices that distract us from God.”
~Kendra Tierney, Catholic All Year Compendium
~~~
Heavenly Father, Draw us closer to your heart, so that we might know you better and understand you more completely. We pray that we would not only give things up for Lent but also give you glory through Lent, Lord. May our actions reflect our hearts, and may we worship you through all that we say and do throughout the coming weeks.
Amen
Saint Trivia
This Blessed was born in Japan and educated by Jesuit missionaries who were all eventually exiled.
He traveled to Rome on foot when the Jesuits refused to ordain him. He traveled for years to make it to Rome in order to be ordained a priest.
He insisted on returning to Japan to minister to those in need and died a martyr faithful to Jesus until the end.
