Dear Woodbury,
I think it’s safe to say that everyone is ready for Spring and an end to all of this winter weather. Although it is nice to get some fresh air and some exercise, there has been too much snow to shovel this season. With that being said, March should hopefully bring us some nicer weather and the ability to move activities back outside. I’m also hoping for some more national championships for UConn basketball, so I am looking forward to the start of March Madness.
Once the snow melts, things will start to move pretty quickly here. At the end of the month we will have our annual Spring Egg Hunt to kick off the season. This month we will be welcoming John Calabrese as our new Park Maintainer. Once the snow melts you will see him and Mike being very active getting the parks ready for spring sports and events. I think they will both be glad to work on the fields and trails as opposed to plowing snow.
Behind the scenes everyone is hard at work putting together new programs and organizing events for the year. After the Spring Egg Hunt, we have Earth Day and Memorial Day right around the corner. Then before you know it, we will have Summer Camp and the Summer Concert Series. Speaking of, registration will open for this year’s summer camp on March 2nd for Woodbury residents. I know most of us are not thinking about the summer season and the end of the school year, but camp fills up quickly so make sure you sign your kids up before it’s too late!
This month is sure to be exciting. I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at the Spring Egg Hunt on March 28th. Please read through the newsletter for all of our offerings this month, and thank you for your continued support of Woodbury Parks and Recreation.
Sincerely,
Graham Musson
