NEECA News -- MARCH, 2022
PREVIEW NEECA'S 2022 CALENDAR OF EVENTS. CLICK ON EACH UNDERLINED EVENT FOR DETAILS.

Each spring we plan a work day up at NEECA to prepare the park for the upcoming season. NEECA is an ALL VOLUNTEER organization. Our clinics, shows, demos, workshops, trail rides, gymkhanas.......are all made possible by the hard work and generous donation of time by our members. And our Work Day is no exception. We count on our membership and friends to show up, if just for a few hours, to get NEECA spruced up and ready to host all the great events we have planned for the year.

We hope that you will plan to join us this year to help out. There's plenty to do, which means there's always something for everyone to do! So please Save the Date and help NEECA put our best "hoof" forward this year!
Work Day Scheduled April 9th
FOOD BOOTH COMMITTEE NEEDED
NEECA is looking for a food booth committee, with a chair, that would handle all aspects of a food booth operation, from purchasing supplies, scheduling, staffing, clean up, etc.

NEECA Event Organizers would coordinate with the Food Booth Committee about needs for various events.

NEECA would cover the cost of at least one of the members Serv Safe Certification if they commit to working a minimum amount of events for the season. We have so much going on this year at the park, and being able to offer refreshments is an important part of each event's success. Id you think you could help us out with this important job, please contact Caroline at carolinemansfield01@gmail.com. Thanks!

Meet NEECA's Board of Directors!
MARGO NEYLON PETRACONE - grew up on a small dairy farm in Barre. In 1975, she built her own farm on land from the family farm.  At eight, she got her first very OWN horse and the rest is history.

When she was thirteen, her parents “went out on a limb” and bought her a three year old huge, but exceptionally kind and talented Appaloosa. Learning everything from a wonderful 4-H teacher and experienced Barre Riding and Driving Club members, she went on to show this horse to New England Champion Appaloosa.

She was a member of MASSOI Equine Search and Rescue Team, working with the State Police; president of the Barre Riding and Driving Club for many years. She is now on the BOD of Cross State Trail Ride & NEECA, in addition to serving on the Ware River Watershed Committee.

Nowadays Margo mostly trail rides, but also likes to dabble in gymkhana and versatility.
STEPHANIE TESSIER - Stephanie fell in love with horses as a little girl. After graduating from high school, she went into the business world and lost touch with her horse friends. Fortunately Stephanie was given a 3 year old Quarter Horse, Timmy, as a birthday gift. Timmy renewed Stephanie’s love and passion for horses. During the many years they spent competing, trail riding and hanging out together, new friendships were forged.

While Stephanie no longer owns a horse of her own, she leases Zoe and continues to compete and ride whenever possible. Stephanie’s love for animals doesn’t stop with horses. She has also fostered and adopted many dogs from local rescue groups.

Stephanie can usually be found helping out at NEECA events, cheering others on, offering words of encouragement and making newcomers feel welcome.
