TEMS Welcomes Almanac Dance Circus Theatre on March 20th!

In performances sponsored by the TEMS PTO, all students will have the opportunity to experience the excitement of  Almanac Dance Circus Theatre (www.thealmanac.us) on Monday afternoon, March 20 th . Almanac  forges ensemble-driven performances that fuse acrobatics, storytelling, and daring physicality. "Dance Circus Theatre" means that the performers take the essential parts of those three genres to craft a new hybrid. It's theatre because they tell a story or show an image that an audience member can recognize in his or her own life; it's dance because it's about the body and rhythm and music; it's circus because it's dangerous - the movements aren't just beautiful or graceful but visibly difficult to achieve with a real risk of failure. The Almanac ensemble explores the unconventional ways that this danger can be used in service of storytelling. Students will understand how the character concepts of trust, teamwork and support demonstrated between members of the ensemble, and honed daily, allow these risks.

Families have the opportunity to enjoy Almanac's full theatrical performance during the Spring DELTA show that's open to the public on Friday night, March 24th at 7:00 PM at Valley Forge Middle School. Tickets are $10 per person and available now online at www.artsdelta.net
