Rhythm and Rhyme

Join staff from the Villa Park Public Library for a FREE story time on the road! Each week will feature stories, music and movement. The next Rhythm and Rhyme program is on Monday, March 20 from 11:30am-12:00pm at the Heritage Center.

LEAP Spring Break Camp!

Five fun-filled days are on tap for kids ages 5-14 looking for something to do over spring break. The Oakbrook Terrace Park District’s LEAP Spring Break Camp offers a different theme each day from March 27-31. We will play games, make crafts and enjoy time outside. Drop-off and pick-up will be at the Heritage Center. The registration deadline in March 14 and is $155 per child.

Easter Egg-Stravaganza

Hop on over to the Heritage Center for some spring family fun at the Easter Egg-Stravaganza! Children will get a chance to make a craft, play games, and meet the Easter Bunny. The registration deadline is March 25 and the event is $12 per child. Register today!

Spring Into Fun Mini Party

Get a jump on spring by coming over to the Heritage Center for the Spring Into Fun Mini Party on Tuesday, April 4! Children ages 2-5 accompanied with a parent will paint a mini flower pot and add seeds to take home. We will also read a book and do a flower craft! The registration fee is $15 for residents and $18 for non-residents, and an adult will need to be present the duration of the class. The registration deadline is March 28.

Lake View Nature Center Open Houses

Do you want to visit some cool critters? Would you like to learn more about the programs and events at the Nature Center? Then come out to our next open house, which is Saturday, March 25 from 11:00am-2:00pm! Open to all and no registration is required.


Please note that our open house scheduled for March 3 has been cancelled due to the anticipated inclement weather.

Monday Nature Tots

Kick off your week with a fun morning at the Lake View Nature Center! Explore the wonders of nature through "loose parts" play at Nature Tots. Toddlers with an adult can learn the joys of a natural play-scape that they create themselves, while learning teamwork and sharing skills. We provide materials, your child provides imagination! The Monday sessions are the best bet for parents to get their child into this fun activity.

Animal Adventures

Animal Adventures at the Lake View Nature Center is a great opportunity to introduce your child to the wonderful world of animals and their habitats. Through creative exercises and hands-on learning, children will discover the wonders of natural spaces and the animals that call those places home. They should dress for their adventures with the animals in weather-appropriate clothing as we often will be outside. The deadline to register for the April 4-18 session is March 28.

Chicago Union Ultimate Disc Camp

Ultimate is a fast, fun, easy-to-learn field game played with a disc. It’s a non-contact sport combining the athleticism of running and agility skills of throwing and catching. Players advance the disc by completing passes to teammates. The Chicago Union offers this week-long camp introducing basic rules, throwing and catching techniques, and offensive/defensive strategies to develop skills through games and activities that emphasize teamwork, good spirit, and the joy of play. Campers receive a Chicago Union disc, a replica jersey and four tickets to select 2023 Chicago Union home game. There are two sessions - June 26-30 and July 10-14 - which will be held at Heritage Park. Register today!

Not Your Mom's Fitness Class

Get in shape for summer with our new program, Not Your Mom’s Fitness Class. A boot camp style class, this program is designed for everyone. Modifications can be made for all fitness levels. With the use of a variety of equipment, we will help get you in the best shape of your life. It’s not just a class, it’s a community. Classes are every Monday and Wednesday at the Oakbrook Terrace Fitness Center beginning March 20 and run through May 10. The registration deadline is March 13.
