Lutheran Early Response Teams [LERT]
TRAINING ~~ Immanuel Lutheran Church,
1258 Broadway N, Fargo, ND
Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 9am till 3pm
Free pancake breakfast and lunch will be provided to participants.
Lutheran Early Response Team (LERT) training events and resources are available for congregations and members of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) to serve their neighbors in times of need following a disaster.
While providing immediate support and long-term rebuilding assistance, disaster response also allows LCMS congregations and members to confess Christ to their community and the world.
A registration fee of $35 per person for the Training Event helps cover the cost of lunch and snacks, training materials, and a LERT T-shirt; $15 will be sent to LCMS Disaster Response to help cover the cost of materials and shipping. Registration for the training will take place through the LERT Volunteer site: lcms-lert.org. The website is where LERT volunteers can see opportunities for LERT training and deployments, and your DDRC will coordinate and communicate LERT activities in your district through the site. To get started, click the “Sign Up” button on the top right of the site.
Our District Disaster Response Coordinator (DDRC) is Kirk Rosin from St. Andrew Lutheran in West Fargo (701-361-6441; krosin@juno.com). He is responsible for coordinating all LCMS LERT training in the ND District. After training is completed, you will hear about upcoming opportunities to serve throughout the United States. Kirk also plans our ND District’s trips, such as the previous trip to Iowa in October, 2024.
