Update: WOSB Eliminates Self-Certification
for Federal Contracting
As of summer 2020, businesses will no longer be able to self-certify as a Women Owned Small Business (WOSB), and will have to apply for certification through an approved third-party certifier, such as WBENC, or through the SBA. The WOSB certificate is useful only if you are interested in contracting with the federal government.

How this will impact you:
You are currently certified as WOSB through WBEC-East: This does not impact you. Continue to request WOSB on your annual recertifications and we will file on your behalf.
You are currently self-certifying as WOSB: You can request WBEC-East to file on your behalf for no additional cost. On your next WBE recertification, check “yes” on question 1 requesting WOSB. Upload your active SAM registration as well as one of the following: previous 4 quarterly IRS form 941; W-3 from previous year; OR current list of employees if the first two do not apply.
You are not interested in contracting with the federal government: This does not impact you. Continue to check “no” on question 1 (Do you wish to apply for WOSB) of your annual WBE recertification.
WBE Spotlight
One of our WBEs, Marguerite Rodgers - President & Creative Director of Marguerite Rodgers Interior Design - was featured in February's Philadelphia Magazine! Read more below:

The challenge Meg Rodgers faced when working on this Center City condo wasn’t simply designing. It was editing — namely, the homeowner’s extensive collection of art, artifacts, antiques, textiles and furniture, acquired through decades of world travel. With her team, Rodgers, principal of Marguerite Rodgers Interior Design, started by cataloging each piece and then collaborating with the client — who was downsizing from a suburban spread — to determine which items would be integrated into the new home.

“The home is a testament to a life spent traveling and creating. It embraces this life well lived. The amount of artistry and craft and skill that is represented here — it’s almost like a museum.”
