Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In the Diocese of Palm Beach, this month of March is a joyful journey of preparation as we seek to renew our spiritual lives before the Resurrection of the Lord. While Lent is traditionally a time of fasting and penance, the past few weeks in our Diocese have also been marked by great celebration.

We have joyfully experienced the ordination and installation of our new Bishop Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez. We warmly welcome our new Shepherd as the sixth Bishop of Palm Beach and look forward to all that the Lord has in store for us under his pastoral leadership. We invite you to visit the links below to read Bishop Manuel’s written column and view his video message.

The month of March is known for many memorable feast days and is especially dedicated to Saint Joseph, the earthly foster father of Jesus. For a quick overview of what March has to offer, please click here.

As the weeks of Lent progress, let us not grow weary in doing good works and offering our penance. Let us continue with joy in our hearts, confident in the hope that Easter is on the way.

May God’s mercy and peace be with you.

Cathy, Deacon Louie, Maria, Liliana, Andy,

Cindy, Rosario, and Beth

Blazon and explanation of the armorial bearings of the Most Rev. Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez, Bishop of Palm Beach, Florida

The armorial bearings of Bishop Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez impale the coat of arms of his episcopal see with his personal coat of arms. These evoke his heritage as well as his ministry. The coat of arms is composed of a shield with its charges (symbols), a motto and the external ornamentation. The shield is described (blazoned) in terms that are archaic to our modern language, and this description is presented as if given by the bearer with the shield being worn on the arm. Thus, where it applies, the terms dexter (right) and sinister (left) are reversed as the device is viewed from the front.
