A Message From Our Senior Pastor
Dr. Joe Giaritelli
One of the words that comes to mind as we study the life of Joseph in Genesis 37-50 is adversity. In John 16:33 , Jesus clearly stated, “ I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Adversity, trials, and troubles are the anvil on which God forges our character. Reputation is how people understand us. Character is how God understands us. Even in nature, biologists recognize a principle at work among plants and animals. It’s called “the adversity principle.” An existence without challenge takes its toll on virtually every living thing. As God’s children, we will face seasons of adversity. It is important to remember at such times that our situation is not hopeless. We are never without hope because of the nature, attributes, essence and character of our God. Hopelessness has no room in the life of the believer in Jesus. God’s divine providence and care follow us all the days of our lives. Remember, Jesus said in John 16:33 that we should, “Take heart. I have overcome the world.”

Our faith is not based in “the world” but in the One who overcame the world.
Dr. Joe
