Love in Action: Al and Janet

Our 2024 Meals on Wheels Sweethearts

Meet Al and Janet from Millburn, our 2024 Meals on Wheels Sweethearts. For two years, this dynamic duo has been delivering not just meals, but also warmth and companionship to those in need. As a couple, they find joy in giving back to the community and keeping a watchful eye on individuals living alone. Their deliveries extend beyond sustenance; Al and Janet engage in conversations, often being the only social interaction some participants receive all day. Recognizing their outstanding commitment, we honor Al and Janet as our Meals on Wheels 2024 Sweethearts.

Summit Elks Donate to Meals on Wheels

The Summit Elks Lodge No. 1246 recently made a generous donation of $10,500.00 in support of our Meals on Wheels program. Elks members are also volunteers delivering meals to clients daily. We remain forever grateful to the Elks for their continued support and volunteerism in our meals on wheels program which allows us to continue providing services to seniors in the community. We Are Doing More With Your Support

As we step into 2024, we wanted to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of our incredible donors. Your generosity and support throughout 2023 have been nothing short of remarkable, empowering SAGE to fulfill its mission of aiding older adults in maintaining their independence and dignity within their own homes. Your contributions have made a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals, and we are profoundly thankful for your unwavering commitment to our cause. Together, we continue to make a meaningful impact and create brighter tomorrows for older adults in need. Thank you for being the driving force behind our success! Special Care Packages for Valentine's Drive

Make A Senior Smile has once again brought joy to our local seniors. For the past two years, this student-led initiative has made a significant impact by providing care packages to seniors in the Summit area. Thanks to the generosity of our community members, over 120 packages have been donated, bringing comfort and support to those in need. This year, The UPS Store Summit and the Junior League of Summit joined forces to further enhance this meaningful project. Together, they gathered essential items such as granola/protein bars, low-sodium soups, single-serving cereal & oatmeal, cookies, crackers, candy, soaps, lotions, warm blankets, socks, and heartfelt homemade cards. On Friday, volunteers gathered at SAGE to assemble these care packages for distribution. Their dedication and hard work exemplify the spirit of giving back to our community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Make A Senior Smile, The UPS Store Summit, and the Junior League of Summit for their unwavering support of our Meals on Wheels program.
