Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Well, I went to school for Fashion Management and then did a post-grad Public Relations program. Prior to joining the Smilezone team around 4 months ago, I was doing marketing and communications for an outerwear brand. I live in Oakville with my wiener dog Coco, and we both love the colour pink!
How did you first learn about Smilezone?
Honestly, I hadn’t heard of Smilezone Foundation until I was job searching. After doing some research on the organization I knew it was an amazing cause that I wanted to be a part of!
What is your role with Smilezone Foundation?
I work as the Communications Coordinator for Smilezone! Some of my job duties include: creating content and managing the social media platforms, creating and updating marketing materials, and working with the hospitals and centres to plan the Smilezone Grand Openings.
What is your favourite part about working for Smilezone?
Spending time in a hospital or healthcare setting can be so draining for anyone, especially kids. So, It’s extremely rewarding to see the impact that our work has on children and their families who spend time in Smilezones! I love being a part of the reason that their days are a little brighter and happier.
Can you tell us about some of the reactions you get from those who attend the Grand Openings and experience Smilezones first hand?
The reactions we get from hospital staff, families, and celebrities who attend the Grand Openings are always so positive - everyone is so thrilled and amazed at the transformations! We are often told that the Smilezone spaces made an even bigger impact and turned out even better than expected. So many smiles!
