A Message from Michael
Michael P. Sheerin, CEO
Quoting a favorite song of Brett McKinstry, our past and very missed COO, “The future is so bright, I gotta wear shades.” As we make small but significant steps towards a post-COVID world, TLC will continue to build on the great ways that we connected this year, returning to more and more in-person meetings and activities. We look forward to being together soon!

March is always an exciting time at TLC, as we celebrate the anniversary of our firm being founded in 1955. As we start our 67th year, we know that there are many great opportunities and adventures right around the corner, and we can’t wait to brainstorm solutions for your next building project…or your next facility energy improvement!
Last month we celebrated Engineers Week. Instead of our typical celebratory breakfast, we gathered virtually to share updates on major projects and tour several project sites via video taken by our engineers. This month we have enjoyed a slice of pie to highlight PI day, as well as TLC’s PEAK Institute. This group of TLCers peeks around corners, investigates new and evolving technologies, stretches the limits of energy modeling software to achieve architectural vision, and solves the most challenging controls strategies. A talented team of professionals, they work with all TLC offices and many clients, helping at key points in the design process to provide additional expertise, or conceptualize potential strategies for attaining a building owner’s goals. Starting in this issue, we’re introducing the members of PI to you, beginning with Sheryl Swartzle, LEED AP O+M, FGBC-DP. Sheryl helps teams shepherd their projects through LEED, WELL, Florida Green Building Coalition and other building rating systems.
2021 is going to look a lot different from 2020 – and TLC is ready for that bright future! We’ve got our sunglasses ready!
