A frantic client was fortunate to have found her heirloom 4 carat, pear shape diamond, after it had fallen out of it's setting and gone missing! The original mounting had a "bent + torn lower prong", with all other prongs showing significant wear and tear, which resulted in the diamond being knocked out of the setting. Costs were evaluated to supply 5 brand new platinum prongs, versus creating a brand new, custom made, 14 karat white gold setting, to fit the diamond and its baguette side accent diamonds. A brand new setting, identical in style to the original setting,
was deemed a far superior option in durability and cost and a CADD computerized design was generated for client approval. The final result was a new streamlined, classic setting which could hold up to every day wear, so that the client could again feel confident in wearing her diamond ring!

A former wedding ring containing an antique cushion cut diamond was the ideal candidate for a makeover, after it had gone unworn for nearly a decade! The lively antique style cut of this diamond gave it optimal brilliance, even if the diamond was not pure white and contained natural "body color", due to it's lower color grade. This is a characteristic of many diamonds from the antique period of the 1920's. A pendant for every day wear was decided and the client preferred a modern style. After discussing several options, keeping the diamond in a clean "bezel set" style and in a yellow gold setting, to compliment the diamond's warm body color, was confirmed. Examples were shown for "inspiration" and a CADD computerized design was created, with a decorative "gallery back". A solid white gold cable chain was supplied, as a "contrast" to the new yellow gold bezel, making the item "two-tone" so that either gold color earrings could be worn with the new pendant. The chain was also made adjustable to 2 different lengths. The end result was a stunning new necklace, to be worn every day, and renewed enjoyment of a beloved diamond! |

A beloved braided, Italian gold ring, which was received over 20 years ago as a "welcome to the family" gift, showed decades of wear & tear, it's original 3 colors of tri-color gold "dulled + worn down" over time, with 1 braided link broken, the interior gold darkened and the outer metal showing heavy surface scratches. The flexible link received a new "joint", the interior was steam cleaned, the outer metal surface polished to a high shine and all 3 colors of rose, yellow and white gold restored like new, with detailed "step-by-step" rhodium plating process in each color. The client said the newly refurbished ring looked exactly as she had received it 20 years ago! |
