Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership with us here at Lutheran Social Services! We could not fulfill our mission without you.
Several school administrators nearby our Boulder Highway location have reached out to us to ask what services we can provide to some of their families in distress. There are five elementary schools within a one mile radius. We normally do an Easter basket drive for our clients but this year we wanted to do something beyond giving them a basket and invite families from these local schools.
So, on Thursday April 6th, aka Holy Thursday, we will have an Easter Egg Hunt and Resource Fair for families and Children from 2pm to 5pm. We are going to have many of our partners help us support these families. It will be interesting to see the pantry used as a giant scavenger hunt zone! Thanks to NFL Alumni, Nevada Homeless Alliance, Hope for the City, Faith in Humanity, Faith Lutheran School, Community Lutheran, Saint Andrew, New Song, Christ the Servant, Living Hope, and others for helping us with this upcoming Resource Fair!
We still need help with a few things to make this happen. If you are able to help with one of these things please email me at martin@lssnv.org. We need a) donated educational books and resources to give away, b) a sound system and help setting it up, c) door prizes, and d) a service provider who can test kids' vision or dental.
