March Meeting Cancelled
We know this is a challenging time for all of us as personal and public safety are a top priority. For the health of our community and to adhere to social distancing guidelines, we have made the decision to cancel our March 31
meeting. We want to do our part to ensure everyone is safe and that we “flatten the curve” of the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
While we are not able to meet in-person, our mission to provide highly personal comfort, hope, and support to bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents remains our priority. Here are ways that we can continue to provide support:
Please call if you need support. Our chapter number is (804) 458-9000.
We are here - we need not walk alone.
The Compassionate Friends (national) has many private Facebook Groups and Online Support Groups. These options are all moderated by TCF volunteers and are a
place to seek online bereavement support:
We Will Monitor
Chapter leadership will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and let you know if we have to cancel any additional chapter meetings.
Like you, we hope that this situation will not last too long.
Chapter Leader/Co-leader Needed
At the February meeting, we shared that Wanda and Linda will be stepping down from their co-leader roles – no later than September - and that the chapter is looking for new volunteers to step up. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering for the chapter as leader or co-leader – or in any capacity – please give us a call or send us an email. The chapter is in good shape and Wanda and Linda (and Ann and Steve) will continue to volunteer for the chapter. Everyone on the steering committee is committed to ensuring that we have a seamless transition.
Helping is healing.
There is info on our chapter website about what our chapter does and there is also a link to our chapter bylaws.
We are sorry we won't see you this month.
Take care of yourself.
