They have been Lunch Pals since Kaden was in 4
th
grade in Safety Harbor Elementary (SHES). Now Kaden is in Safety Harbor Middle School (SHMS) in the 8
th
grade and he says, “It is OK for Mr. Spoor to follow me into High School and then right in to college". This is good with Mr. Spoor too!
Kaden is my second mentee of three mentees, I had one before him who graduated to high school and have another in 5th grade now at Safety Harbor Elementary School that I started with in 3rd grade. My goal is to have one at SHES and one at SHMS each year. I start around 3/4 grade until they graduate high school. Next year I will have my first high school mentee in Kaden!
I mentor to help guide future community leaders in Safety Harbor and Pinellas County. I spend much of my free time coaching sports and mentoring youth, it’s a passion of mine. It is a very rewarding use of my time. The youth are our future.
