CalFresh Healthy Living, UC
in Action!
Building a Presence with San Francisco's Head Start
CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE Community Nutrition Educator Marisela Ceron has been hard at work fostering relationships and community connections with Head Start preschools throughout San Francisco. Go, Glow, Grow and CATCH programming has been implemented at nine unique Kai Ming Head Start locations around the city.
Kai Ming has been a beneficial partner, with staff that have been available and eager to provide translation during classes, as needed, to monolingual Cantonese speaking students. This ensures that everyone in the class feels welcome and included. Marisela creates an energetic and joyful presence well-balanced by effective communication of the fun, interactive curriculum.
We are excited to continue partnering with ECE organizations in San Francisco County to encourage the development of healthy nutrition and physical activity habits and the importance of healthy living at an early age.
