Real estate giant to redevelop International Plaza

Simon Property Group says International Plaza, which it bills as one of "Florida's most luxurious malls," is poised for a significant redevelopment. Simon acquired an 80% stake in International Plaza and Bay Street in 2020. The updates to the mall will include a 50,000-square-foot open-air exterior expansion, creating a walkable outdoor shopping experience to showcase global brands. MORE

Bicycle Friendly Businesses

With the help of Pedal Power Promoters, we are excited to announce that two Westshore District companies (HDR and Ben & Jerry’s) have been awarded Silver status through the Bicycle Friendly Business program.

The League of American Bicyclists utilizes the BFB program to highlight businesses who are committed to supporting employees and visitors who embrace active transportation options.

Bike Westshore 2026

Join Westshore Alliance staff and Pedal Power Promoters on the third annual Bike Westshore Series! There will be a guided bike ride on the first Saturday (March 7) and last Saturday (March 28) of the month. Both rides will highlight the Westshore District through safe bike routes, public art elements, and active transportation investments.

LIME will be providing electric bikes for participants on both rides (limited supply). Enjoy a morning of experiencing Westshore on two wheels and post-ride refreshments. Learn more about both events here.

Celebrating Student Creativity 2026

The Westshore Alliance Public Art Committee was excited to celebrate Westshore Student Creativity for the second year in a row. Twenty-five pieces of artwork from Roland Park K-8 Magnet School and Hillsborough College were on display at MacDonald Training Center this past February. The Westshore Alliance is currently in the process of updating the 2018 Westshore Transportation Action Plan and your input is extremely valuable to direct the future of transportation in the district. Take the Online Survey to share high-level feedback on transportation challenges, priorities, and opportunities across Westshore. Utilize the Interactive Map to drop location-based comments directly on the map of Westshore to highlight specific issues, gaps, or opportunities.
