Spring is in the air!   We are only 14 weeks away from Recital 2020!
I know many of you are new to Mobile Bay Dance Academy and have many questions about recital. In this email there is information about ticket sales, picture weekend, recital program books, rehearsal and recital schedule....and more!
We try very hard to keep the recital process as easy as possible for families. We do have some rules and requirements to keep the event organized, safe and fun for everyone. A recital bulletin including more details about the event will be emailed to families in April.

Miss Kendra
Every student participating in dance class with us WILL PARTICIPATE in the Annual Dance Rehearsal & Recital held at St. Paul's Dr. Monte L. Moorer Theater the weekend of May 30 & 31. This includes students that dance with us at the studio, their school, preschool or daycare.

Every year, one of the highlights of our recital is the beautiful keepsake program book that showcases our studio and students. Each family is encouraged to support their dancer by buying or selling an ad that can include a picture, words of wisdom, best wishes, or congratulations. Ask your family, friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles and local businesses to sponsor a picture page for your dancer. Students can be pictured together with a fellow dancer and the families can share the expense. Students can also purchase more than one ad. Make your child's dance recital complete this recital by buying an ad for the annual recital program book. This is a great way to acknowledge the dancer in your life for all their hard work. It's also a great way to advertise for your business and reach a target demographic. We have different sizes available and ads start at just $25.  You will choose the portrait that goes in the advertisement after you receive your proofs from Colonial Photography. The dancer that sells the most ads will be featured as our 2020 Cover Girl. They will also receive a FREE YEAR OF DANCE TUITION ($430 Value)
Deadline For Cover Girl Entry:  Thursday, April 9th
Deadline For ALL ADS:  Thursday, April 23rd
John Rapier with   Colonial Photography   will be our professional photographer this year. Class pictures and group pictures will be taken in the dancer's recital costume at the dance studio on Saturday, March 21st & Sunday, March 22nd.
The link to the picture schedule is below.
Please make every effort to have your child at pictures.
Class pictures and individual pictures will be taken at your scheduled picture time. If you are late for your child's scheduled picture time, your child may miss their class portrait.  If you are not planning on having your child's picture made with their class or individual pictures, please be considerate of the other dancers and parents and let us know ahead of time.

There is a $20 sitting fee for individual pictures.
This fee goes towards the purchase of your package.

All students will need their 2020 Recital costume, pink tights and all of their shoes for dance picture weekend.   Costumes that have not been sent home will be sent home as soon as they arrive as long as your account it is up to date.

Reminders & Upcoming Dates
No Parents or Visitors in Dance Class
No Parents or visitors are allowed in the dance classroom. Dancers are more focused and perform better with less people in the room. Dance is also about learning independence. You will see your dancer grow so much in confidence from their dance
classes. If your child is feeling anxious about being in class without you, you can help by explaining to your child that they can show you what they learned after class.
