March 2015 Newsletter
|
We hope you were able to stay warm and safe during our icy winter weather. Things are sure to warm up in March and we have some heart warming stories to help with that!
Mentoring is not just about empowering an individual to succeed, it is also about creating a lasting relationship.
Read how Nicole* and Desiree worked together to accomplish goals that set Nicole on a path to self sufficiency.
We are also proud to share a life long legacy of service and empowering others. Our retired Board Member and Mentor,
June Cox, was honored with the June Cox Volunteer of the Year Award at Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington. The award, named in her honor, serves to commemorate the time and dedication she has given to so many. Thank you, June for your years of service and benevolence to our community!
Congratulations to client Melissa Bates, winner of the iPad Mini from our Financial Coaching Follow-Up Blitz!
Family Pathfinders has joined the Blue Zone movement, and is committed to making healthier choices. Several staff members from Family Pathfinders along with Mayor Betsy Price attended the City of Fort Worth 's Blue Zone kick-off last month.

Retired Board Members Jim Walther and June Cox with Mentoring Coordinator Randall High
|
In February Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington honored one of Family Pathfinders' most treasured volunteers, June Cox.
`
June was a Mentor for over 15 years as well as a Board Member. As a member of Trinity's congregation, she and fellow retired Mentor and Board Member, Jim Walther laid the groundwork for the Pathfinders Partner program, making Family Pathfinders a part of their outreach programming. Trinity UMC actively recruits Mentors and Financial Coaches from their congregation and have designated our programs as part of their annual giving.
Trinity honored June as their Volunteer of the Year and named the award in her honor. The June Cox Volunteer of the Year Award reflects her legacy of life long service and dedication to the community.
We congratulate June on her many accomplishments and are honored to be a part of her volunteer and service legacy!

Mayor Betsy Price and Randall High at the Fort Worth Blue Zone Kick-Off |
The Blue Zones Project encourages changes in our community that lead to healthier options. When our entire community participates - from our worksites and schools to our restaurants and grocery stores - the small changes contribute to huge benefits for all of us: lowered healthcare costs, improved productivity, and ultimately, a higher quality of life.
Fort Worth is on its way to becoming a Blue Zones Community. Residents and business owners alike are focused on improving well-being for themselves and their neighbors.
