The Role of the Non-Dominant Hand on the Forehand

by Zhenya Pereverzin

How well do you use your top hand or non-dominant hand on your forehand? Does your hand wander and throw off your balance?

Does your hand help you turn your shoulders?

Coach Zhenya's 1-minute tip discusses Part 1 of the non-dominant hand's role in the Forehand Unit Turn!

The More you Know

by Chrissie Price

The purpose of a vibration dampener is to reduce the shock during contact caused by the tennis ball hitting the racquet strings. This affects two aspects: the feel and sound of the stringbed.

The dampener mutes the feel, meaning you feel less impact. For new players, this is great as the irritating feel of mis-hits is muted. Additionally, the pinging sound that rings out is reduced to more of a pop, or thud sound.

Did you know that there are specific "legal" areas on the racquet for dampeners?
