Early Childhood Education Virtual Advocacy Day
The 87th Texas Legislative Session is here and now is the time to act! Advocates, child care providers, and stakeholders across Texas have worked together to create early childhood education legislative priorities.
Join TXAEYC, Children at Risk, Legislators, Prenatal-to-3 Coalition Members, and Early Childhood Advocates from across the state on Tuesday, March 9 in a virtual rally to improve early childhood systems and public policies. Together we will advocate for legislators to prioritize infants, toddlers, and their caregivers this session. While we cannot meet on the capitol steps this year, we can make our voices heard! More details to come soon.

The guide includes tips on safely dealing with debris and damages, evaluating the safety of food and drinks, navigating issues with power and water supplies, helping children and adults cope with the stress of a disaster like a severe weather event, and getting help from sources like FEMA, insurance providers, relief programs, and reputable contractors as needed.

Navigating Pandemic Relief for Child Care Providers
During the pandemic, child care providers have risen to meet an unparalleled and unprecedented challenge—providing safe, quality, affordable care in the midst of a global economic crisis and a never-before-seen virus. Thousands of providers in centers and family child care homes have done everything they can to stay open and continue serving their communities.
NAEYC's Public Policy team has created a guide to highlight relief opportunities that child care providers may be eligible for, including links to external resources that provide in-depth, step by step instructions for grant, loan, and tax credit opportunities.

NAEYC Announces Virtual DAP Symposium
NAEYC recently announced a new virtual event for this year, The DAP Symposium, being held June 9-10, 2021.
The Symposium will be an opportunity for anyone involved with early education to explore the rationale and consequences to their work from the recent revisions to the Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) Position Statement and the upcoming 4th edition of Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs.
Recognizing the ongoing health concerns with large in-person gatherings, the Symposium replaces the 2021 Professional Learning Institute that had been scheduled for June in Philadelphia, PA. The Institute will return for June 2022 in Cleveland, OH.
