Introducing Our New Trade Specialist 
Arop Monywiir is a recent Messiah College Alumnus. He graduated in August 2018 majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Philosophy. During his last semester at Messiah, he was a Statistical Analysis and Economic Impact Research Intern at WTC Harrisburg. He is a well traveled South Sudanese national, and speaks Italian, Swahili and Arabic in addition to English. For now he will be taking over the reins from Katrina as our new Trade Specialist. A big welcome to Arop!

Keystone Moldova, a division of Harrisburg based Keystone Human Services presented p at   the  Zero Project Conference in Vienna, Austria last  month .  Their division,   Keystone Moldova, was named a 2019  Zero Project  award winner,  and as such they were selected along with 65 other practices and 11 policies from 42 countries to participate.  Zero Project winners are chosen for their innovative contributions to independent living and political participation of persons with disabilities. Congratulations!!

Elsner Engineering Works Inc. made front page in the Central Penn Business Journal for their initiative to tackle the decrease in the manufacturing workforce, by bridging high school students with a career in manufacturing. Sourcing Request for S crap LDPE
A Malaysian company is seeking suppliers of Low-density Polyethylene (LDPE) in bales grade A99. They are importing 3,000 tons to their factory in Malaysia monthly. This is a qualified trade lead from PA's Authorized Trade Representative in Singapore.  If this is of interest, contact our office for more details.

New GAP Grant Available for 2019
T he GAP grant is offered again for 2019 by  PA' s Office of International Business Development though funding from  the  US Small Business Administration.  

The grant amount per year is $5,000 and the  following activities  are eligible for reimbursement: 
  • Overseas trade show 
  • Overseas trade mission 
  • Domestic trade show (needs pre-approval) 
  • Foreign market sales/business development trip 
  • Subscription to any of the US Department of Commerce international services 
  • Website internationalization (capped at $3000) 
  • Shipping of product samples (capped at $2000)

Register Now for the PA Pavilion at the SFFS 
WTC Harr isburg is again partnering with the State's Office  o f International Business Development and the PA Department of Agriculture in organizing a PA Pavilion at the  Summer Fancy Food Show .   The show will be held at the Javits Center in New York City from  June 23 - 25, 2019.  

Exhibiting at the Fancy Food Show is a convenient and cost-effective way to connect with buyers from every major food/beverage buying channel in the U.S. and abroad. Last year's show featured more than 2,600 exhibitors with representation from 54 countries.   Food Export Northeast is again arranging a Specialty Food Buyers Mission for this trade show.

Companies need to be members of the Specialty Food Association and can reserve space on a first-come - first-served basis. Cost for a 10 x 10 booth is $3400. Contact our office for more details.  
Food Export Northeast
For manufacturers of value-added food and agricultural products, Food Export Northeast offers a variety of programs and services to help grow exports. Whether your company is just getting started or is already exporting to several countries, a variety of programs and services are available, including:  
Additionally, the Branded Program is available for qualifying companies interested in increasing their market share in other countries.  This program reimburses 50% of expenses used to promote products internationally, such as trade show costs, package and label modifications, website globalization and more.
